CHAPTER 16 - Night on the outskirts of town

“Alfhonso!, it turns out you are here too!” the greeting of a middle-aged man made Alfhonso and Jasmine turn their heads.

“Albert!, how are you?” the two men immediately embraced each other and they chatted loudly, making Jasmine seem forgotten.

Jasmine, who is now alone, then looks at the beautifully engraved statue on the table (booth) exhibition.

Jasmine was attracted by one half-body statue of a plain white woman.

He kept paying attention to the carvings on the statue.

The girl slowly touched the curves of the face on the statue.

But the palm of his hand accidentally knocked the ear of the statue, until finally….

PRAK!...

The statue's ears were broken and fell.

“Hah?!” pekik Jasmine looked at the fallen white-colored piece and broke on the floor.

Jasmine turned her head to the right and left, in the hallway there was only Alfhonso and his friend facing behind, turning her back to Jasmine.

Alfhonso ended his conversation with his friend, and he stepped over to Jasmine who was alone in front of the statue of a white woman.

Jasmine panicked instead of playing, she looked at Alfhonso who was approaching her and quickly pulled the man's hand hurriedly.

“Hey!, what's in-.” Alfhonso who was slightly running because of the pull of Jasmine's hand still implied confusion on his face.

In the distance, a warden walked towards the statue, but luckily Jasmine and Alfhonso managed to run before the guards caught the debris that fell earlier due to Jasmine's actions.

They hid behind a corner of the sculpture exhibition hall.

“Hah?!, what have you done!?” alfhonso asked as Jasmine explained what happened.

“I accidentally sir!, how is this,.I am very afraid” Jasmine's panicked face actually makes Alfhonso laugh.

“Yasudah, then we just run” said Alfhonso who made Jasmine's eyes rounded.

With a breath that has not been irregular Jasmine is made back to sting with the invitation of Alfhonso to escape from the building.

Suddenly the building's alarm went off, guards could be seen running towards the exhibition hall of sculptures and paintings.

The people who were there seemed to be panicking without knowing what was happening.

Alfhonso pulled Jasmine's hand in a quick step, passed by the exhibitors and they pretended to be calm when in front of the guards looked at them, then passed towards the statue's hall.

Eventually they made it past several guards, then both exited the building.

Their breaths narrowed, but then they laughed with Jasmine's behavior.

They finally managed to get out of the exhibition building area.

“I didn't expect your hands to be so jahil” Alfhonso who was driving incessantly laughed at Jasmine's behavior.

“I accidentally sir, maybe the statue is not strong enough, I just nudged it a little and he immediately broke” said Jasmine.

“Hey, ignorant girl, Do you know the price of the statue?” asked Alfhonso who still held a big smile.

“No sir, but obviously, the price must be greater than my salary for two months” said Jasmine who again made Alfhonso laugh.

After traveling for a while, Alfhonso drove his car to a place that was rather quiet and uphill.

“Master, where are we going?” ask Jasmine.

“To the outskirts of town” replied the man casually.

Alfhonso parked his car in a place on the edge of the city, in a rather high place, and from there they could see the vastness of the city at night with flickering flickering lights.

“Waaw, this is very beautiful sir..all can be seen from here”.

Jasmine saw how beautiful the view from up there with a different face to when in the exhibition building earlier.

Alfhonso who looked at Jasmine's cheerful face smiled with something on his mind.

He felt something peaceful when he saw the beautiful innocent face of the girl beside him.

“Master?, do you have no problem sitting on the ground like this?, your coat can get dirty sir?” jasmine looked at Alfhonso who was sitting and took his cigarette out of his pocket.

“What's the problem sitting on the ground, I've even slept in mud” said the man who started lighting his cigarette while slashing his eyes slightly.

The thin smoke of the men's cigarettes began to widen around them.

But with a sudden Jasmine grabbed the cigarette tucked in the man's lips and turned it to the ground.

“Master, you should reduce cigarettes, not good for your health” said the girl made Alfhonso dumbfounded to see Jasmine's face.

“I still have one pack” the man started taking another cigarette to suck.

“Master!, if you smoke again here I'll go and walk!” pekik Jasmine was upset.

“Yes, yes well.this time you win” said the man.

Both of them were silent for a moment in that dim atmosphere of silence.

“Master..., can I ask you something?"

Alfhonso nodded in agreement to Jasmine's question.

"why don't you want to get married and have a family?” said the girl.

“Now, I don't want to have someone I love, then they are snatched away from me by my enemies, as often happens to my friends” said the man who propped his arms above his knees.

"And just so you know, I'm a bad guy, is it worth getting married?" alfhonso's speech made Jasmine frown.

"You deserve to be loved sir, even if you have committed a crime"

"Never Jasmine, but all my life I've done evil, and I'm evil itself"

Jasmine was silent for a moment.

“Do your parents still have a master?” ask Jasmine.

“So please, my father may still be around. I haven't seen him since I was seven years old, which I know from my grandfather, he remarried and after a year of marriage his wife was shot by my father's enemies. And my mother.she was a woman who changed partners often, leaving me for the sake of the man who had ruined her family. Well, my family is indeed not a harmonious family” explained the man while looking straight at the scene in front of him.

“Sorry for my question tuan” said the girl who then lowered her head beside Alfhonso.

“Nothing, I never grieve considering my family” said the man who then looked at the girl next to him.

“Jasmine...have you ever had a lover?” alfhonso asked, which made Jasmine turn to the man.

“Not sir, I have never been close to a man before” Jasmine replied.

“What does that mean I'm the first one close to you?” Alfonso smiled slightly.

“um,.ya you could say so..” said the girl a little shy.

"You're beautiful, isn't there a man who's trying to get close to you and be your lover?"

"There were some who approached me, but I just thought of him as a friend"

"Huh, you must have let down a lot of men and broken their hearts.." Alfhonso smiled slightly crisply.

"Ah, not really sir.you're too much" Jasmine also smiled.

“Jasmine...” Alfhonso looked down at Jasmine's face.

“Ya old-.” suddenly Alfhonso's face was already in front of the girl's face, who now could not speak because her lips were blocked by the man's lips.

They enjoyed the beautiful night with just a little storytelling and a little sweet kiss.

When the night was high, they went home. They walked down the city road which was a bit quiet because the clock had shown eleven thirty at night.

“Are you thirsty?" alfhonso asked, who saw Jasmine looking for something on the side of the car door and on the side dashboard.

“Actually yes sir, but let me have a drink in the apartment"

“We stopped by the minimarket, near the square there are still open, I also want to buy soda and food" said Alfhonso while driving the steering wheel of his car.

Alfhonso's black Volvo car drove slowly in front of the minimarket that was still open, and was very quiet.
