“I didn't know anyone had woken up this early,” said Gina a little clumsy. “I thought I could go around and look around for a while before breakfast.”
“I saw you from my window,” said Lucius admitted.
“I think most likely you're going to this place.” The man's expression this morning was completely unreadable. “Well, what do you think of our home?”
“Amat very beautiful,” says Gina. “Like palace! Why didn't you tell me you were a Count?” tanyakanya.
Lucius just shrugged his shoulders. “I don't care about such a status symbol.”
“Ottavia does not seem to agree.”
“My sister does prefer to maintain that ancient tradition.” Lucius patted the seat beside him. “Sit here.”
“I have to go back,” said Gina hurriedly. “Definitely now it's almost breakfast time.”
“Food will be served anytime and anywhere as requested,” Lucius said. His eyes look amused
now, and he added, “Or maybe you're afraid of me?”
“Of course not!” shangkal Gina's.
“Then, on the feelings I caused you?” asked Lucius stubbornly.
Pretending not to understand Lucius' words was a futile act, Gina knew it. “You are too bragging,” he said ketus.
Lucius's eyes became increasingly ticklish. “Your English blood speaks. Your Barsini blood reciprocates my feelings.”
It was time to tell Lucius the truth, but somehow Gina was speechless.
“Although I am very grateful for what you did for my car, I do not want to be a toy-week-this,” replied Gina
with cold.
“Toys for children,” said Lucius, absolutely do not want to lose. “While we are not children.”
“But we don't know each other,” Gina said on purpose. “You know absolutely nothing about myself.”
“Then tell me,” invite Lucius.
This opportunity arrived again, but Gina still could not dare to tell the truth.
“I must return,” he said again.
“Then, I will accompany you,” said Lucius.
Lucius rose from his seat, slim and strong like a puma, with his trousers and black shirt.
Gina calmed down while Lucius walked towards where he stood, but
Lucius made no attempt to touch Gina, only matching the woman's footsteps
when they walked home. For smelling faintly
aftershave that Lucius wore, Gina remembered that she still had to take a bath
and brushing her hair.
“Do you always wake up this early?” ask Gina.
“I got up straight out of bed as soon as I opened my eyes,” Lucius said. “Never more than six o'clock, sometimes even an hour before.”
“Even though you just slept through midnight?”
“It's just a matter of habit. If I get sleepy during the day, I can take a nap. Depends on my commitment.”
“I'm sure your commitment is a lot.”
“Not too.”
“But a bit too official compared to how you speak, right?”
Gina glanced at Lucius's chiseled face and said with a small smile. “My English teacher would love the selection I said. Usually it is the tourists who introduce bad habits.”
“Only a few tourists come to Vernici,” Lucius said. “Because this city is not located in the tourism lane.”
“I know. I myself was a little hard to find it yesterday.”
Now it was Lucius' turn to take a quick glance, his face water looking astonished. “Why did you bother looking for Vernici if your father
from Naples?”
Let's just tell it now! Whisper Gina's inner voice while simultaneously cursing her carelessness.
“It turns out,” Gina heard her mouth say indifferently. “My father was actually born in Vernici, so I don't think there's any harm if
I went to that city too.”
“O so.” From Lucius' tone of voice, it was obvious the man was wondering why Gina had not explained that fact last night. “Name
your father I don't know,” said Lucius again, “but the elders of this city must remember your father's family. I'll get people to find out.”
Gina felt herself getting sucked into the vortex. Jeez, what the hell is wrong with him so he's constantly continuing his lie?
They arrived in front of the house. Lucius walked up to Gina a few steps to open the door, and when Gina had entered, the man followed from behind, so close that Gina felt
uncomfortable. Her sandal soles were wet after walking on the grass, altogether
not suitable for walking on that slippery ceramic floor. As soon as he slipped, Lucius instantly caught his arm and tightly hugged his waist.
“You should be more careful,” said Lucius, without trying to immediately let go of his embrace.
“Ya,” said Gina assured him. “I'm fine now, thank you.”
Lucius laughed softly and then gave a glimpse of Gina's temple. Gina's blood instantly churned passionately and it made her coarse.
“I'd rather you don't do that,” Gina spray.
Lucius laughed again, but this time he let go
her hug. Gina forced herself to look into Lucius' eyes. “I know that you may not be used to being told this, but you should know that I'm not.”.
“Do you think you're not the one who's too bragging?” asked Lucius quipped.
“Masa?” challenge Gina, and see the amused look again radiating from Lucius' eyes.
“Yes. I'm not a real man after
seeing you I don't want you right away, cara.” Lucius did not give Gina a chance to answer that— even if Gina could think of the answer. “I'll start finding out about the Barsini family this morning. I hope I can get information about them soon.”
Wasted hope, Gina thought regretfully. The longer the lie, the more difficult it is to recover it later.
“I have to tell you about—“ he started saying, but was forced to stop when Guido suddenly appeared.
“About..?” lucius Fishing.
Gina shook her head, her courage was gone. “Forget it.”
He left Lucius standing in his place and ran up the stairs to his room. Now the situation has become really difficult. If only he had a car, he would have been tempted to stop his goal and return to England. He was really interested in this man who could be a close relative of his family, the man who openly expressed his desire, he was not the kind of woman who
happy with a momentary relationship, like a ship docked one night, a
the relationship Lucius clearly wanted.
Although he refused last night, breakfast was delivered to him at eight. Gina ate it on the balcony while enjoying the view as well as the warm air.
