Nadine approached the man who had been waiting for her, because they had changed his status of course Nadine became very awkward now. As soon as Rangga stated everything, even we did not know each other too well.
"Have you waited a long time, huh?" nadine asked who was in front of the man.
Rangga shook his head while publishing a small smile on his lips. In her eyes Nadine is an ordinary girl, even her clothes are always long and not minimal as Sarah wears. At school, Nadine always wears a sweater from school to every day, whereas others only wear sleeveless vests.
Rangga put a helmet on Nadine, of course, the woman shifted her eyes so as not to look directly at him closely.
"Today it's not necessary to work." said Rangga after pairing the helmet.
"But, ka?"
Rangga looked into Nadine's eyes which made the woman speechless, her heart beating even more irregular as she and Rangga looked that close.
"I know you're off today, so there's no reason for that" said Rangga, "Well, we're going somewhere" he continued.
Fortunately, the lesson hours were much faster, around the end of the break and only take one subject they are all returned at around 10 am because of a meeting for the midterm exam which is held in 1 week. After it had gone up, Nadine's hand only held the tip of Rangga's jacket.
"Why not walk? He said he was going somewhere?" ask Nadine.
"Handle." she replied.
Nadine looked at his hand, now she understood the meaning of holding a hug. Nadine just swallowed her silva, this is only the first time Nadine hugged a man after Iqbal.
Rangga involuntarily smiled seeing that his waist had coiled Nadine's hand there, the man immediately ran his motorbike to go somewhere.
Arriving at that place, Nadine scrunched her forehead. There are some male toys such as water guns, and there are some female toys such as dolls. Nadine just kept quiet, she stared at the man who was busy choosing the toy.
"Make the child of the home as it is." Nadine's mind smiled faintly, then continued to look at the neatly arranged toys in the store.
Until finally Nadine stared at the toy that made her remember the boy who was in the orphanage. Karin's name, 6-year-old boy has hypnotized her. The boy who remembered something if he remembered Karin's face, like remembering something but quickly lost his mind because it couldn't be true.
Rangga came to disperse the daydream of Nadine staring at the two-pointed doll.
"Nadine.." call her.
Nadine gasped in shock, then looked at Rangga who was holding 2 bags of toys and several picture books and stationery and colored pencils.
"I-iya ka, this is for the orphanage child?"
Rangga nodded, "We want to go there, so bring this gift." he replied.
Nadine immediately held the pouch, and was immediately prevented by Rangga. "It's heavy, baby." chirped it.
Nadine who heard that was silent, and being misbehaved made Rangga chuckle to see Nadine's face flushed with embarrassment.
Nadine looked straight ahead of the streets that were not too crowded, this time the woman did not hug Rangga because of the goods she had to hold. It is quite heavy, but not too much if taken by motorcycle. Nadine is certainly very homesick and happy to meet the children again, can entertain herself.
Arriving at the orphanage, the children who were playing also ran up to us both. Rangga who was holding 2 bags of crackles was just laughing, Nadine who was busy hugging them would laugh. Ah, Nadine's happy every time she comes here.
"Ka Langga, bring what?" ask the lispy woman, she knows her name is Syifa.
"Toys, picture books, the same stationery." replied Rangga.
The children laughed happily, Nadine noticed those who did not escape one by one. There was no Karin there, making Nadine research again. "Bawa ya, ka Rangga same ka Nadine want to meet the same mother Fatimah" said Rangga.
The children were immediately clad in royong carrying platik, Rangga grasped Nadine's hand which made the woman surprised.
"Ka, don't do this. I'm so ashamed." whispered Nadine.
"Oh there is a Rangga" said Fatimah.
"Assalamualaikum ma'am, I'm sorry we didn't come on time" Rangga said.
Fatimah only smiled briefly, then glanced at Rangga's hand that held Nadine's hand.
"No, it's okay. I'm just sad because Karin was adopted by someone yesterday, so carried away until now" he said.
"Eoh, Karin's adopted mom?" ask Nadine.
Fatimah nodded, "The same family is good and God willing Karin will not be lacking."
For some reason Nadine became silent, she lowered her head. After knowing Rangga brought him here, Nadine hoped to meet with Karin. A 6-year-old boy who was able to calm him down, a boy he thought was no stranger.
"By the way, son Rangga same nak Nadine no need what?" ask Fatimah.
"I just come here to visit ma'am, I bring toys for children that they have opened in front" replied Rangga.
Fatimah smiled, she occasionally looked at the hands of Rangga and Nadine who were still clinging to it. The status is clear now, maybe the first time Nadine was brought by Rangga was just a friend, and now it is different.
"You guys play first, I want to prepare lunch for the kids."
Rangga nodded, and Nadine was still with her own world. Rangga finally woke Nadine.
"Why?" asked Rangga who walked out.
"There's nothing, I just thought of Karin."
Rangga stopped his path, he turned to look at Nadine. "Any adopted child will be investigated, whether by law or religion, whether his life is good or not, guaranteed or not. Karin's adopted successfully, everything's gonna be fine."
Nadine looked into Rangga's eyes, and instantly she nodded her head. "Hm, I believe that. I hope Karin will be fine." she replied.
Too protracted to play with the children of the orphanage made Nadine forget her duty, the task of picking up her sister. Until he realized the watch he was wearing had shown at 2 pm which means he was aware that Hanasya should have gone home, plus Gionino had returned from his job outside the city. With a heavy heart, Nadine asked to go home to Rangga.
"I-I have to pick up sister, sorry ka Rangga. I'm so sorry I have to go home" said Nadine who suddenly became panicked, the shadow of the blow was present in her head, her memory in fear was present at the wrong time. Nadine runs to the gate, hoping for a taxi to pass.
Nadine became trembling, she became crying all of a sudden. It has been 2 days of suffering he did not feel when his father left, today when his father came home Nadine made a tantrum because of forgetfulness of his sister. Rangga followed, staring at the astonished Nadine who was suddenly frightened.
"Nad.. Calm down first." said Rangga who held Nadine's shoulder. Woman crying, Rangga looked deeper to find out what happened.
It had been 5 minutes Nadine was not calm to make Rangga hug her, she rubbed Nadine's hair.
"Sorry Nadine, dad.. Hix.. Nadine forgot to pick up sister.." sobs Nadine who hugged Rangga, she closed her eyes tightly. Rangga, who was still surprised, continued to rub Nadine's back until the woman was calm.
Nadine was still not calm, finally Rangga cupped the woman's face. He looked at the woman's reddened eyes, "Listen, you wait here. We're going home, I'll get the bike first. Can you hold on a second?"
Nadine just nodded, Rangga immediately rushed to pick up his motorbike. Nadine immediately hugged the man's body tightly, her cries still did not stop all the way. Rangga was still struggling in his mind while riding his motorbike, in his mind asking why Nadine was this scared? What the hell is going on?
Nadine went straight into her house after arriving, she did not forget to thank Rangga. Until the moment the door opened, a pair of eyes stared at him sharply from the living room. The frightened Nadine immediately looked down at the approaching footsteps.
"How dare you make my son cry again, huh?!"
Nadine closed her eyes hearing that scream.
