Chapters 10. Bad News

The mood is now quiet. After Santiani had been taken sitting by Pafang to a long chair which was some distance away from Andra's friends who were now still sitting in long chairs and there were some standing. Pafang deliberately told them to sit a bit away from him because he did not want if Santiani went back to rampage and scolded them all.

Meru bit the tip of her nails with a feeling of anxiety that raged in her heart. Meru turned to look at Fandi who is now trying to smile and trying to win Meru after patting Meru on the shoulder.

On the other side Satria who was now leaning against the wall stepped across Ucup who was also standing beside him. Sometimes Satria peeked behind the glass trying to see Andra who was undergoing the process of examination by doctors who did not come out of the room.      

They all wish Andra well. Well, they all want that so badly.

They all waited long enough. Sometimes Santiani who felt very anxious looked down at the clock on the watch that wrapped his wrist then he stared at the door of the room where Andra was there.

"The family of Andra's brother!"

The audible sound made everyone rise up as the doctor who had examined Andra's state stepped out of the room.

"Doctor! I'm Andra's Mama!" santiani said quickly as she ran over to the doctor.

"Please! To-long tell me how Andra is doing! My son, he's fine, right? She's okay, isn't she a doctor?"

"Santiani, calm down!" whispered Pafang who quickly embraced his wife's shoulder.

"Quiet down! Calm yourself! Let the doctor explain everything!"

"But our son, Mas-"

"Yes, I know but you have to be calm! The doctor will tell him" he said calmly and occasionally shook his wife's shoulder to strengthen her.

"Doctor! Doctor how is my best friend? Is my friend okay, doctor?" asked Satria who was so very anxious to make the sobbing santiani suddenly stop the sound of sobbing and glanced sharply at Satria and the three friends of Andra who were beside her.

"Heh, you! You don't get pretentious, yeah!" pointing at Santiani made Pafang close his eyes tightly.

He pulls Santiani's wrist to stop to point at Andra's best friend.

"Already! Don't talk about that first! We need to focus on Andra's condition now!" whisky Pafang.

"The patient is currently critical. The bleeding on his head was caused by a scratch during the accident and after we did the examination we saw that part of Andra's braincase was cracked."

"It made him unconscious" he continued.

Santiani's lips trembled upon hearing the doctor's explanation. his two eyes heated up with a feeling so very devastated that there was a sharp meaning that stabbed his chest until it penetrated backwards making his breath tight as if it was difficult to breathe.

"Our kids, Mom! Our son is critical."

Santiani felt limp. His legs were so weak that he was unable to support his body. He almost fainted but, quickly his body was restrained by Pafang.

The sound of Santiani's cry exploded while Andra's friends Satria Meru Ucup and Fandi were also shocked.

They all did not expect that after the accident made his best friend, Andra became critical like this.

"Now we will also perform the operation and after the operation we will take Andra to the ICU room and after that we only expect miracles from God. May the patient live in this world."

"Doctor, do whatever is best for my son. I want my son to be safe. He is our only child so please save him" Pafang said expectantly.

"Of course, sir. We will do our best for your son. Then you and Mom can come with me to take care of the surgery files?"

"Can, Doc."

"good. Please come with me to the room!" his request made Santiani and Pafang step however, Santiani's step stopped.

He turned slowly towards Andra's friends who were still staring back there. They lined up neatly just like the newly punished schoolgirls in front of the classroom.

Silence, none of them spoke.

"It's all because of you! If only Andra hadn't been racing, Andra wouldn't have been in this hospital!!!" he shouted while pointing towards them.

While the friends of Andra can only be silent even Meru and Ucup can only be bowed.

"Review that Andra died! I put you all in jail!" he then turned and walked away leaving the four friends of Andra who now look at each other.

Satria sat her body in the iron chair with her sad feelings. The atmosphere was now silent - none of them intended to speak. Until in the middle of the silence the brangkar appeared to pass them when pushed by the nurses made Satria, Meru, the, Fandi and Ucup stared at the patient who had been covered with a long white cloth that seemed to be taken to the mortuary.

Ucup lips vibrate. His head continued to face towards the driven brangkar and had been quite far away.

"Aye don't want to go to jail!!!" yelling Ucup then hit the wall surface and kicked the chair in front of him made Meru quickly pull his best friend.

"Hey! Oi! It's already! Already!" his yell.

"Ko why?" tanya Meru who pulled Ucup away and stopped the blow but, never managed to make Ucup rebel.

"Hey, you heard sa!!!" he shouted while holding both shoulders of Ucup and shaking it made the man in front of him speechless with his chest up and down.

"Ko why, huh? Why do you want to blame yourself?"

"Eh, Mer! You don't hear what you're talking about as good as Andra when the Andra dies, the four of you will be in jail."

"Lu don't know, anyway? Aye doesn't want to go to jail" he continued.

"Nobody's going to jail. Don't blame yourself!" sahut Satri is still sitting in the long chair.

"Andra got into the hospital and was critical because of an accident not because of us. It's not us who's racing anyway."

"That race is Andra's own will. The race was to celebrate the birthday of the motorcycle gang and we we can not be afraid especially with the threat of Mama the Andra."

"Temen Andra is not just the four of us, there are many. If for example Mama the Andra really wants to enter us in prison, we will ask friends in a motorcycle gang to be witnesses if we are not guilty," explained Satria.

Fandi who had been silent since then stepped his feet slowly towards the front door where from here he could see the figure of Andra who was being prepared to perform surgery.

"You know not, if the head operation is very dangerous," said Fandi in the middle of silence.

Where all his friends have been silent now he talks to make Ucup, Meru and Satria staring at his best friend who is still standing in front of the door of Andra's room.

"My cousin once went to the hospital. His head was also operated on and it was only a week that my cousin died."

Satria's eyes could not blink. His body was not stiff and locked tightly.

"What if Andra really dies?" ask Fandi with his eyes that look empty.

"Nobody doesn't want to go to jail. Gimane if you're really in jail? Babe ame Enyak will be sad," whispered Ucup who sat beside Meru who could only look silent.

Messed up, everything really feels chaotic. They all thought that today was the birthday of his motorcycle gang. They all did not expect that the birthday celebration with a race that every year Andra always held even bad news that happened in the midst of happiness.

Andra's accident has even dragged his four friends who are still sitting in long chairs.
