In the afternoon, Adam kept his promise and came back to Nilam's shop. As usual, Adam always brought a change of clothes because after cleaning the body shop would sweat and Adam would ride a bath and pray maghrib in the place of Nilam maam.
This time, it's, Adam not only brought a change of clothes deliberately in case Melati gave birth at any time because HPL Melati was actually already passed but the young mother-to-be was still willing to wait a few days first. So, Adam did not need to bother going back and forth to take a change of clothes because Adam was determined to accompany Nilam to guard Melati during labor later.
In addition to taking a bath and praying maghrib, usually Adam will also come to dinner with Nilam and his daughter. It was only after Isha' that the young man of high stature would return to his deserted residence, because Adam lived alone there.
Adam had offered to buy Nilam to move to his house, but Nilam refused firmly. In fact, Adam also said that he would live in a restaurant if Nilam and his daughter wanted to move to Adam's house. However, Melati's mother strongly refused Adam's request.
After the Maghrib prayer, Ms. Nilam and Melati were preparing dinner in the kitchen. While Adam, waiting in the front room or in the tavern while playing the phone. When suddenly, the voice of Nilam mother called the name of the young man.
"Mas Adam, please Melati, Mas!" yelled Nilam from the kitchen.
Adam immediately got up and walked quickly towards the source of the sound, for a moment Adam was stunned to see the blood flowing in the white calf Jasmine. Adam immediately regained his senses and without asking much, the burly young man carried Melati's body to be carried into the car.
"Mom don't forget to turn off the stove and bring Dik Melati's equipment" Adam said as he walked out of the kitchen.
Ms. Nilam said, after turning off the stove the skinny woman rushed to take the bag that had been prepared by Melati in the room. Ms. Nilam then ran out of her stall, locked the door quickly and soon caught up with Adam, who was already heading for the car while carrying Melati.
Adam drove his car at high speed to get to the maternity clinic, where Melati last checked the contents. Melati's voice that held back the pain, sounded heartbreaking in Adam's ears until the handsome young man stepped deeper into the gas car.
While behind, Nilam's mom was busy calming her daughter down. "Patience, Son. God willing, everything will be fine" said Nilam.
Actually, Adam wanted to ask why Melati suddenly had so much blood to bleed. But hearing Melati's moans and Nilam's panicked face, Adam undoes his intentions.
Adam can only pray in his heart, may the mother and the baby survive. While continuing to say do'a, the bluish-eyed young man occasionally saw Melati through the reflection of the rearview mirror in front of him.
Adam grimaced, when he saw the young woman grimacing with pain with a clear circle out of the corner of the jasmine net. Sweat Jasmine also poured out, soaking her white forehead.
"Mom, this is tissue to wipe Dik Melati's sweat," said Adam while thrusting a box of tissue stored on the front dashboard to Nilam's mom, without looking back because Adam's focus was on the crowded highway.
"Thank you," Nilam replied briefly, Melati's mother then wiped the princess' sweat lovingly.
"Mom, I'm sorry Mel, Mom. Sorry..." Jasmine stammered.
"Shhh, just focus on your delivery later, son. Let the past pass, let it no longer be revealed. Just make it a lesson so that in the future if you want to step, you can think long first," advised mom Nilam to the princess wisely.
Melati took the hand of the mother who was stroking her distended stomach and won the baby who kicked stronger, as if thrashing to be immediately removed from the hiding place.
The young mother-to-be kissed the back of her hand, with tears streaming down. It is hard to sacrifice a mother to be able to give birth to a child into the world, but after being born and raised lovingly, Melati has actually made the mother disappointed in him.
Melati loses her teenage years, she also has to drop out of school and bury deep in the dreams of both parents who want the bright princess to become a teacher. Not to mention the burden of life that the mother has to bear because of her actions, all that makes Melati really feel like a child who is ungodly.
"Mother, pain ..." cried Melati, sounding more and more heart-wrenching Adam.
"Prophey yes, Sister. Here, I've been speeding. In a moment, we arrive at the clinic," Adam comforted as he glanced at the rearview mirror in front of him.
Shortly thereafter, the car Adam was driving turned to the maternity clinic. Adam went straight to the lobby and parked there.
After parking the car in a hurry, Adam immediately got out of the car along with the security guard who approached Adam's car.
"Sir, my wife wants to give birth" said Adam.
"Oh, fine. I'll get you a gurney." The security guard immediately entered the room.
While Adam opened the rear car door, the young man then lifted Melati's body and laid on a gurney that had been prepared by the security guard and two nurses.
Adam did not pay attention to his dirty clothes stained with blood and water, whether any water Adam did not understand.
After the gurney was pushed in by two nurses, Adam and Nilam followed behind the nurse.
"Why is this, Mom? How can you bleed? Did fall?" asked the nurse while continuing to push the gurney where Melati was lying down while grimacing in pain.
"Yes, Sus. My son slipped in the kitchen" replied Nilam.
Adam looked at Nilam, asked for an explanation and Nilam nodded.
"So, Melati wants to make a drink for Mas Adam. The water was spilled soaking the floor, it had not been dried and Jasmine forgot to pass it." said Ms. Nilam.
Adam frowned, "Sus, is that dangerous?" asked Adam who seemed very worried, after hearing Nilam's explanation that Melati had fallen.
"We'll see, yes. To be sure, "one of the nurses replied, "and later if it is dangerous, we will take action immediately. So Mas please stand by huh?" The nurse who explained earlier turned to Adam, who thought that Adam was the husband of the patient.
Adam nodded and smiled, "get ready Sus, do your best for our mother and baby" Adam replied, which made Nilam turn towards the cross-faced young man.
Realizing that Nilam was staring at him, Adam smiled more and more. "Can't, Mom. Baby, being Adam's son?" lirih Adam asked as he hugged Nilam's shoulder warmly.
