Daffa helps Smith explain to Hana's father and mother about Smith's arrival.
"So Smith wants to embrace Islam? " Ask dad.
"Yes uncle, I myself am confused. Because when I don't know where I'm going. Ever since I got to know Hana in college, I've been finding out about all religions. Including the religion espoused by Hana" Smith explained. "I feel like everything Hana does is not just of her own volition. There are limits that I take care of uncle. There was a softness in speaking making me feel at ease hearing it. There was courtesy in my behavior, making me disinclined to him. I think all that Hana got from her religion" Smith said again. Mr. Bahtiar listened carefully to all of Smith's words.
"True Smith, in Islam, we are given rules. Not just for your own good. But also for others" Hana's father said.
"Please teach me uncle" Smith said. Others just listened and watched Smith. Suddenly, Rani and Hana come out of the kitchen with a tray containing drinks and some companion food. Rani put the drinks on the table.
"Let's drink first" Rani said. Afterwards, Hana dropped off some cookies.
here, the cake is eaten too. Before dinner" Hana said. Hana sat beside Daffa, while Rani sat in an empty chair next to Hana. Each one took tea water on the table. When I drink it someone says hello.
"Assalamualaikum" Bilal arrives.
"Wa'alaikumsalam wr wb" They answered in unison.
"Well, there's a guest apparently" Bilal said as he stepped in.
"Mas bilal" Hana said. Daffa, Hana and Smith greeted Bilal.
"Have long been deck, Daffa? " Task Bilal while sitting next to Rani. Joseph who was in Bilal's arms immediately moved to Rani.
"Ummi, Yusuf bought a snack with abi" Yusuf said with a typical cedal voice of a child.
"Oh yeah, buy what snacks? " Tanya Rani responded to her son. Hana was seen standing up and heading back. "Before a while mas" Hana and Daffa said.
"Buy this ummi, it tastes sweet" replied Yusuf.
"Donak ya, divide dong yusuf into om Daffa" Daffa reached out his hand teasing Yusuf. "This is the same" Daffa said, extending his hand to hold Joseph.
"Om handsome want this? " Task Yusuf while turning to Daffa's lap.
"You dong" answered Daffa.
"But a little bit, om, not a lot. It will be over" answered Joseph again. It made the people there smile.
"Om handsome yusuf bribe ya" Yusuf said again while thrusting a small piece of confectionery into Daffa's mouth. Daffa would not open his mouth.
"Enak om, sweet" asked Yusuf.
"Yes, Yusuf Pinter yes choose snacks" Sahut Daffa.
"Later if the handsome om want, let's buy the same abi" said Yusuf plain. Everyone was stunned while laughing. Hana came while carrying 2 paper bags.
"Yusuf, this aunt has something for you. Yusuf though? " Task Hana while sitting next to Daffa. Open the paper bag and bring out a toy. Joseph who saw also became sparkling. And immediately ask to move into Hana's lap. So happy, Joseph kissed Hana's cheek. Hannah became very upset with Joseph's behavior.
"Like it, let's aunt Hana play! " Sayf said as he slumped down and ran to a large place while carrying a remote control car given Hana.
"Hana, don't buy expensive toys for Yusuf, we will not buy them" Rani said with a smile. Just contact it invites laughter of other families.
Adhan mahgrib reverberated, The whole family of Hana rode to the mosque to perform congregational prayers. They go together. Smith went with them. Because after the mahgrib prayer, they will sowan (visit) the residence of Kyai Mustofa. They leave together. Joseph also wanted to come. Daffa carried Joseph to the mosque.
Once the prayer is over. They immediately headed for Kyai Mustofa's house. In ndalem Kyai Mustofa looks lonely. In the mosque there are so many. Kyai Mustofa himself looks like he has finished praying. Hana and her family are waiting outside Ndalem. They sat waiting for Kyai Mustofa to come. Almost 20 minutes of waiting. Kyai Mustofa and his wife headed to the living room.
"Please call the guest ma'am, tell him to come here" Kitah Kyai Mustofa.
"Yes bah" Bu nyai immediately moved. Once outside they are welcomed by the Hana family. They look one by one.
"Let's go in" said Bu Nyai welcome his guest.
"Assalamualaikum" said one from Hana's family before stepping in.
"Wa'alaikumsalam" replied Kyai Mustofa with his wife.
"Thank you Nyai" replied Mr. Bahtiar. Once they get inside. They did sungkem to Kyai Mustofa. That's how manners are. They sat down after being invited.
"Thank you Kyai, ma'am nyai" Pak Bahtiar thanked him before sitting down to bow his body as a sign of respect to the Kyai. Kyai Mustofa smiled at Pak Bahtiar's words.
"It's not Hana and Daffa. Who just got married" asked Kyai Mustofa before Pak Bahtiar expressed his intention tonight.
"Iya Kyai, I am Daffa her husband Hana" Daffa replied politely. Kyai Mustofa smiled at Daffa's courtesy. As a respected and influential person, it turns out that Daffa is not the type of an arrogant person.
"What is this about the rame-rame coming here" Kyai Mustofa asked.
"Anu Mbah Kyai, there is a business that we must convey to Kyai because we feel it is inappropriate to carry this trust. Ami will hand over this trust to Kyai Mustofa only" said Pak Bahtiar replied.
"What exactly is Pak Bahtiar, I have not been clear the purpose of the arrival of the father of the family" Kyai Mustofa repeated his question.
"So like this Kyai, this is Smith, Hana's friend from London school. Nak Smith wants to become a convert" replied Pak Bahtiar expressing his meaning. Smith smiled stiffly at Bahtiar's speaking. There was a little shame in his heart.
"Is that true, son Smith? " Tanya Kyai Mustofa's.
"True Kyai, I want to embrace Islam. So that I don't lose my way. I have been an atheist all this time. But lately my heart has always been restless, but never lost that anxiety. I don't know where to go when I'm down. My master is Christian. Sorry, I'm less interested in the religion of my parents. After I asked for an opinion, they told me to rethink this big decision. They agreed if I converted to Islam. So I asked Hana for help with this. And Hana and the master of Daffa told me to study here" Smith explained.
"What is the decision of son Smith has been carefully thought out, I do not want religion to be made toys" asked Kyai Mustofa.
"It's Kyai, I'm ready. Because my parents always supported my decision, as long as it was good for me" Smith replied.
And they continued the conversation after a few glasses of tea water given by a santri ndalem.
