Chapter 101 - The Ghost

Gibran wiped away the tears on Setta's cheek. The man hugged the girl he loved.

"You can't cry, you have to be strong for your own sake, for Nathan's sake."

Gibran rubbed Setta's back gently.

"I love you brother, please don't leave me, brother."

"I will not leave you alone, I will always look after you even if you are not in the world anymore" Gibran said.

"Sir Gibran can't go!" setta whining.

Gibran let go of his embrace and gave the girl a kiss.

The operating room door was open, Nathan was declared safe by a team of doctors. For the time being, the man had not been conscious due to the influence of the dope.

"We're with Nathan, yuk! I'm not saying good to him either" Gibran said.

"Why did you leave?" ask Setta who still does not believe what he heard from Gibran earlier.

"You rest first, I can't go until I can say goodbye to Nathan" Gibran said, holding Setta's hand to Nathan's nursery.

The sound of the rooster's crow signifying the break of dawn, woke Setta from his sleep. The girl looked towards Nathan who was already conscious and smiling looking at him.

"Remember..." Setta immediately hugged his beloved sister.

"Alhamdulillah, you're okay, right, deck?" ask Nathan.

"I'm fine but brother Gibran..."

"What's wrong with Gibran?"

Setta immediately cried hugging Nathan back.

"Try to explain to me brother, Gibran why?" Nathan shook Setta's shoulders as he sat down.

Gibran appeared in a corner of the room suddenly.

"Astagfirullah, you know what the hell, Bran!" nathan looked at the smiling Gibran.

A knock on the door was heard that morning before Gibran answered Nathan's question. The door opened and Captain Ghani greeted him, then walked over to Nathan.

"Thank God, you're safe" said Captain Ghani.

Setta decided to leave the room, he had to perform his morning prayers at the hospital mosque.

"How's the condition there?" ask Captain Ghani.

"You kapt, all surprising, fortunately Gibran helped me" Nathan said, pointing to Gibran standing to the right of his bed.

"Gibrans?"

Captain Ghani stared at the side of the bed Nathan pointed at with a puzzled look. He turned back to Nathan.

"Did Sahrudin say anything before he was buried alive?" ask Captain Ghani.

The question of the man in front of him suddenly made Nathan aghast.

"Is Tia conscious?" ask Nathan.

"Not yet, I had a chance to see him but he was not conscious, then I came to see you."

"If Tia isn't aware, how does the captain know if the mayor is buried alive?" nathan asked, who was suspicious of his boss.

"Oh this is Nathan, Ridwan has told me about everything" Captain Ghani said in a suspicious nervous tone, as Sarah had contacted him for protection.

Sarah told me what happened to Sahrudin.

"Gibran, do you believe what he said?" Nathan looked at Gibran.

"Gibrans? where's Gibran? you're hallucinating, yeah, your friend is already..."

He began to understand with the pale face he saw on Gibran's face, although he honestly did not want to justify his conjecture. Captain Ghani could not see his friend.

Gibran immediately cried and hugged Nathan

"I'm sorry." said Lirih.

Three hours before Wira took Sahrudin, the mayor met Captain Ghani at a villa outside the city.

"You shouldn't have killed Madam Laura" said Captain Ghani.

"Well, if I hadn't finished him off, he'd have opened his mouth, and you'd have known it would have threatened us. Besides, I can teach that stupid cop a lesson" said the mayor and sucked his expensive cigar.

"But, dealing with Nathan wasn't easy, sooner or later, the slightest gap he found from Madam Laura's murder, he'd quickly know the common thread that was heading our way. Moreover, he suspected you" said Captain Ghani.

"You take care of him, make it as long as he's in jail as possible. Just so you know if he endangers me, then I will take you to jail as well" threatened Mr. Sahrudin.

"You threatening me? after what I did for you? I helped you kill mayor Husein and put his accomplice in jail" he said.

"Well, that's what you should be aware of as well, you helped me in the murder of the Husein.

Ah come on, I'll go abroad to calm down, you take care of everything!" the mayor then nodded.

How surprised he was when he opened the door, he found the figure of Gibran had stepped quickly from there.

"You take care of him, I think he heard it all!"

Mr. Sahrudin turned to Captain Ghani to give the order.

"Hmmm one more of my proud men who I have to finish," said Captain Ghani then contacted the head of the gangster ruler of the eastern region.

The gangsters intercept Gibran's car, which is about to drive towards Nathan's house. Shots after shots came in a row mercilessly raining down on his front chest. Gibran died instantly, his body buried in the woods.

Nathan could no longer hold back his tears when he was shown by Gibran about the death of his best friend. The man pulled the hose out of his hand, then descended the bed toward Captain Ghani.

"WHY DID YOU KILL GIBRAN?!"

Nathan shouted in front of Captain Ghani in anger.

"I don't understand what you're saying" said Captain Ghani, trying to ward off.

"You're even involved with the murder of Mayor Husein, you're like a beast, even more evil than a demon."

Nathan punched Captain Ghani in the face until his lips bled.

The man was confused not to understand why Nathan could know everything he was doing with Sahrudin. Captain Ghani then grabbed the flame from his back waist which he slipped in his pants.

He pointed the gun at Nathan. The sound of the trigger was ready to be pulled spewing the contents of the bullet, but Gibran managed to pull the hand of Captain Ghani. He made the bullet go through the window glass behind Gibran.

The sound of the gunfire made the sisters who heard it on the tenth floor gather in front of Nathan's treatment room. They were all scared to open the door.

No need to wait any longer, Nathan pushed Captain Ghani's body to the floor. Both were involved in a fierce fistfight after Nathan managed to remove the gun from the captain's hand.

Captain Ghani knew of Nathan's weakness at the time. The direction of his punch always hit the former operation on his side abdomen. Blood poured out of Nathan's body because the stitches of the operation were open.

"Aarghhhh...!!!" Nathan screams in pain.

With all his strength left, he gathered to smash Captain Ghani's body until his back hit the window glass and made it almost fall. Both of his hands grabbed the edge of the window and tried to hold on, although his palms were injured by the shards of glass.

The blood coming out of his hand made him slip, he was no longer able to hold on. Captain Ghani fell from the tenth floor. He saw the ghost sighting of Gibran staring at him before his head hit the asphalt of the road and was crushed by a large truck. Captain Ghani was killed instantly.
