The funeral of Giordano and Mirele, attended only by one priest, the Captain and his two assistants who guarded Gavino, four hospital officers, Gavino's lawyer and of course Gavino himself as a child and family.
There were no large bouquets or mourners. There is no major event whatsoever, which accompanies the decline of the coffin of his parents Gavino.
There is only him spoken by the priest, for the spirits of the two who have gone out of this world first, to his paradise.
When he was finished, the clergyman returned home, escorted by Gavino's lawyer. Who also paid first. Because he also had to finish his job taking care of all things, about the kiosk business and warabala. It belongs to Giordano and Mirele.
Four people who were hospital staff also left. It is Gavino and the Captain, who are still between the two new tombs.
While the two assistants of the Captain, had already moved from his place. They were both ready outside the entrance of the burial area.
"Gavin's. What will be your plan for the future?"
The question posed by the Captain was not immediately answered by Gavino. He still kept his head down, looking at the wet ground on the two mounds of the tombs of Giordano and Mirele.
"Hmmm..."
There was the sound of a long breath coming out of Gavino's nostril.
"I want to get out of this town, Captain."
Gavino's words that answered his question earlier, made the Captain frown in wonder.
"Go, do you mean continue studying abroad or out of town?" The Captain tried to ascertain his guess.
"Hum..."
But Gavino did not give a clear answer. He didn't want anyone to know where he was going in the meantime. Because actually he just wanted to disappear from the sight of people who knew him.
"alright. I won't ask you again. But if you need help, or whatever it is. Don't hesitate to call me."
Gavino only nodded faintly, confirming the words spoken by the Captain.
"Go Captain. I don't need to wait. Captain there's still a lot of work. I'm fine."
The Captain knew that Gavino's words were the way to get him out. Even with subtle ways and words. But he also doesn't want to bother Gavino, who is in need of time alone.
"alright. I'll go first."
Gavino receives a helping hand from the Captain, who leaves the cemetery.
"Be careful."
That was all Gavino could say, as the two of them shook hands.
Moments later, after Gavino is alone between the two new tombs of Giordano and Mirele.
"I'm sorry Gavin Pa, Ma."
"Actually, Gavin didn't want this to happen. Gavino feels so guilty."
"If given a choice, Gavin prefers to live in the past. Where we can continue together. Although there are many flaws and insults from people's mouths."
"What does all this mean, Pa, Ma? Gavin doesn't know who else to hang on to, if you two aren't around anymore."
Gavino's questions and words were still being heard at the place. Where he expressed his sadness and disappointment, without anyone knowing.
Her tears also came out without her being able to hold back. Even though he had already tried to be tough and strong, for the death of the two of them.
But in reality, she was still crying. When alone like this.
*****
The chief maid at Gavino's house, surprised to see the arrival of Gavino who was in his current state.
The clothes Gavino was wearing looked shabby, and there were traces of soil on both of his knees. Likewise with his face that is clearly visible if he is in a state of sadness.
"Young man from where? Why are his pants dirty? There's ground at the knees."
The words of his servant made Gavino come to a realization. He was kneeling in front of his parents. And he didn't notice the state of his pants after that.
"It's okay. Just a little dirty."
Gavino answered. He did not want to discuss any more about his dirty pants, then immediately passed by heading towards his own room.
"Oh yes Young master. Yesterday there were two friends of the young master who came to this house. They're looking for the whereabouts of the young master."
Gavino's steps stopped. He turned his head towards the maid's head, but did not also ask any questions.
"alright. Thank you." Thank you." Only a flat answer came out of Gavino's mouth. He eventually turned back to go to the room.
But his steps again stopped, Du as the chief maid gave a report. "The big master and the Madam didn't come home from yesterday, young master."
Now, Gavino let out a long sigh. But not turning her body again.
"Mom and Dad are abroad." Gavino gave an explanation to the chief maid, so as not to wonder anymore.
From the glass beside the temple standing, Gavino could see the shadow of the maid head nodding its head. After hearing the explanation he gave.
Now he entered the room, headed straight for the bathroom. He wanted to soak for a while, to forget all the sadness that was in his heart.
"I have to get out of this town for a while."
Gavino's mind was in a state of turmoil. He wanted to calm himself down, to go alone. Without anyone knowing his whereabouts.
"Did I just go to Monte Isola?"
His desire to go to his hometown. There he still has his own house. Although small, but a lot of memories about Giordano and Mirele there.
There were also some neighbors and friends, although the relationship between them could not be said to be alright.
Especially if Gavino remembers the childhood of school. Gavino again let out a long sigh, to forget all his bad memories in the past.
"I'd better go to another city. Who no one knows me."
"But what about my school?"
"I can ask a lawyer for help, to take care of it. School is done. Just waiting for graduation. I can go to college where I live later. Though not as big as we are Romans."
Gavino decided to leave Rome.
The city that used to be the city of his dreams, in order to change his own fate and also his parents.
Everything has changed. And more than what he wanted. Because in the end, two actually lost both parents themselves. In the midst of his efforts to fight evil.
But the message delivered by Mirele at the time, made Gavino a little more relieved. Because Mirele wants to be a strong man, but still be on the right path.
Mirele also gave a leak about her grandmother's killer. And so from Mirele, who was a confidant of Grandpa Gavino himself.
"He's not just a great mobster right now. But that man has already entered the ranks of the government. Often called his name. You have to fight Gavin."
That's the message Gavino still remembers from his mother, to this day.
