Forced to Get Off Bed

Forced to Get Off Bed
27. Following Ambar

“The stuff is all done, right?” Digta asked with a flat face when he saw Zeya trying to get up from the hospital bed.

“Already, Mas.”

“Ayaaaah, we're going to Mom's place?” Ciya asked with perfectly rounded eyes.

“Iya, Son,” Digta replied with a smile. “Already, let's go home. We followed Ambar directly to the hospital.” Peda Digta while carrying a few bags and stepped towards the outside of the door.

The man looked at his sister-in-law for a moment who was trying to walk alone.

“You can walk by yourself, right?” Again, Digta's tone was cold.

Zeya nodded her head. “Can do, Mas.”

“Oke.”

Digta and Ciya stepped out of the hospital room first. They got into the elevator together. Digta placed the bag on the floor while pressing the button so that the elevator door would not close until Zeya managed to get into the elevator.

“Still, Mas,” said Zeya sung after successfully entering the elevator.

And the elevator doors closed, taking them all the way to the lobby. While walking through the lobby, Digta stopped for a moment when he saw a familiar-faced Father crying and saw his wife's coffin being pushed into the morgue.

The fathers he met in front of the hospital while buying breakfast, and gave him a cigarette. The man said that his wife was in a coma because of an accident. Is today the day his wife left to make him cry?

Though yesterday, the man himself asked Dipta to calm down to face this kind of situation. But in the end, the man was also the one who cried the loudest.

For some reason, the heart of Dipta was sliced. Because the Creator will feel the same. Crying hysterically when his wife is called by God.

Created to wait only for time.

“Mas...” Call Zeya. “What's up?”

Created from long daydreams. “No.” Then the man went back first through Zeya's body.

Their car left the hospital. Dipta contacted her mother-in-law.

“Ma, mama is already in the hospital with Ambar, right?” Ask Digta when their call has been connected.

“Mama is here from morning, Digta.”

Mama's answer made Digta feel relieved.

“Zeeya has been released from the hospital. Now we are on our way to Jakarta. We'll catch up with Ambar. What is Ambar, Ma?”

The first thing I heard was a cry from my mother. Makes Digta even more worried and anxious.

“Conditions are critical, but Ambar is still conscious.“

Digta's heart ached to hear the news.

“Can I talk to Ambar, Ma?”

“Can. A moment yes...” then heard the voice of Mama talking to Ambar. “Mbaar, your husband wants to talk.”

Before long, Ambar's voice on the phone was heard. “Mas...” His voice was so bright and loud.

“Mbar...” Digta held back his cries, he did not want to sound so weak in front of his wife. “Wait for me there. Me, Zeya and Ciya are on their way there, honey. Plis, I'm sure you must be strong.”

“Mas…. I'm sorry, if I had a lot wrong with you.”

“No, Ambar. I don't want to hear your apology right now. I just want you to wait for the presence of me and your son. I'm sure you're strong, baby. My Ambar, strong Ambar, right?”

Zeya shed tears as she looked at the expression of sadness from Digta.

“Iya, Mas. I love you.”

“I also love and love with you, Ambar. I'm willing to spend my life just for you, Ambar. We haven't been out for a walk, have we? Remember, you want our wedding anniversary gift to travel to Switzerland? Next week is our wedding anniversary, honey. And I promise to take you to Switzerland.”

Ambar grinned. “Iya, Mas. I wait for your appointment yes....”.

“Iya, darling.”

Digta finally disconnected, because he was no longer able to hear Ambar's voice. Digta hit his head on the steering wheel repeatedly. He clenched his right hand, and placed his hand into his mouth. He could not help but cry in this condition.

Zeya let go of her tears filled with pain that was embedded in her heart when she saw Ambar struggling alone. Whereas Ciya—who does not know why his Father and Tantenya are crying—can only stare in wonder.

After a fairly long journey, Digta tried to stay alive when he drove a car at high speed. Thankfully, they arrived at the hospital safely.

They immediately got out of the car after the car was parked in the hospital courtyard, and walked quickly to Ambar's inpatient room.

Crushed. One word gnawed at Digta's feelings when he saw Ambar lying weakly with tools that helped him to stay alive.

Then Ambar coughed, a cough that was spitting out a lot of blood. Digta ran straight to his wife.

“Mas, have you arrived?” Ambar smiled at Digta.

While Digta, trying hard to hold back his tears so as not to fall. “I'm definitely coming, Honey.”

“Mommy why...” Ciya curled her lips down when she saw the condition of the mother who looked sad.

“Sini, Nak.” Ambar waved to call Ciya.

Ciya also stepped closer to his father. Digta held Ciya so he could hug Ambar.

“In a moment, I'll be going away once. I want Ciya to be a good boy yes.”

“Why do I have to go far?”

“Because of every human being, it's time to go far. Later, there is Father and Aunt Zeya who take care of Ciya.”

Ciya looked at Digta and Zeya alternately. “But, Dad is not good at reading fairy tales to me, Mom.”

“Tante Zeya pinter, read fairy tales. Aunt Zeya is also good at singing.”

“Truly, Bu?”

Ambar nodded. “So, Ciya can't be naughty huh. Must be a good boy and pinter.”

“Iya, Ibuuu..”

“Ciya promise?” Ambar stretched out a pinky.

“Appointment, Mom.” And Ciya returned Ambar's pinkie.

“Ma, it's time to call Mr. Anto.” Ambar looked at his mother full of please.

Mama nodded. “Good, Mama call first.”

Ambar looked at his papa. “Papa is ready, right?”

Papa did not answer. The man who had always been strong in front of his family— could only look down weakly while wiping the end of the eyes that had been moistened by tears.

“Pak Anto who, baby?” Tanya Digta was astonished.

“Later, you'll know.” Ambar just a smile.

Shortly after, Mama reappeared in the room while carrying the man named Pak Anto.

“Aready, Mom? Which one to marry?” Ask Mr. Anto while staring one by one between them.

Digta frowned. “Who? Who wants to get married?”

“Mas...” Smile again. “I want to see you and Zeya get married, before I go.”

“What?” Zeya was suffocated in shock.

“You've gone crazy huh, Ambar!” Digta exclaimed with a fiery tone. “No, I disagree! How could you ask me and your sister to marry you in this state! No!” Digta Tegas. “No wedding today!” Digta came out of Ambar's hospital room.

“I don't want to either, Mba! This is called coercion!” Zeya refused.

“Not that you have promised to comply with Mba's last request, right? Mba wants to be your wedding witness.”

“No way, Mba Ambar! What the hell is in Mba Ambar's mind!” Zeya sat on the sofa while rubbing her face furstration. “Mama and Papa why shut up? Don't you know about Ambar's plan? That's why you forced me to stay home with Mba Ambar? Why the hell, you guys are so mean to me! I just want to marry the man I love. Not with my own sister-in-law!”

“Zeeya, if Ambar had other options. Mama and Papa will not approve Ambar's decision. But, in reality, Ambar had no other choice either, Zeyaa. Mama just wants you to understand.” Mom started getting emotional.

“Papa will follow Digta.”

Papa came out of the room and saw Digta sitting in the waiting chair—in front of Ambar's inpatient room.

“Digta...” Papa sat next to Digta. “Someone who first feels lost when his son leaves is his parents. Because we gave birth to her, we raised her, we sent her to school, and we let her go when she married someone else. But, we are not ready, when releasing it must go back to the Power. We're not ready, Digta.”

Papa bowed and cried. “Can you ask with your Mama. Have I cried for decades married and domesticated?” Papa shakes. “In fact, when I release Ambar to you. I don't cry because I believe in you. But when I found out Ambar had a deadly disease, whose father didn't get hurt? My son Ambar is the best child, the smartest child, and also beautiful. I am proud of Ambar. Ambar never demanded, never asked us much. Now, when Ambar has a lot of demand. How could we not obey him. Ambar wanted, papa and mama did not meet him when he was sick, as his request, we agreed. And Ambar asked Zeya to stay at his house, we agreed. Now Ambar wants you and Zeya to get married because Ambar does not want any other woman to take care of you and raise Zeya. We did all this for good, and Ambar's happiness in the moments of his passing.”

Then, Papa suddenly dropped his knee on the floor. “I beg you, as a Father. grant my son.” request Papa clenched both of his palms. Drops upon a teardrop fell soaking Papa's face. “I beg, Digta...”.
