"You're alive?!"
Ansel kept his phone away from his ear, when the phone call from Bastian he received. The man half-numbed because it was so hard to contact him.
"Yes." Yeah." Ansel answered unconvinced, the question reminded him of the herbal medicine drinking incident that occurred a few hours ago. "I'm still alive." At least he's lucky he's not dead at the moment.
"What's going on?"
Ansel could not say that nothing had happened to him, because in fact drinking a herbal medicine that he would not try again in his lifetime, would be a bad record in history. "I met Mr. Justin's youngest daughter who turned out to be more annoying than I thought before" the man said in a single breath. Then gasped as if all the oxygen supply suddenly ran out of his lungs. "I have to what?"
"Only facing a woman can't you."
Bastian's words sounded scornful behind the phone line, just barely Ansel intend to turn it off. "She's a girl who‐," for a moment she thought, looking for the right word to describe a Lasena Maura. "A little wild," he added.
Ansel told her what the girl did to him on the first day of work.
Bastian sounded clucked, as if what he was saying was not a matter of meaning to him. And finding it was a fact that made Ansel really feel bad as a man.
"This is even your first meeting, sometimes the first impression on someone is not always good."
"If the first impression is bad, how will it be?" Ansel was even worried that the girl would mess with his plans, or even his life.
"So you're hoping for a future in your father's rival's mansion?"
"Of course, I also hope to be part of his family and get an equivalent inheritance, with his two twin sons. Are you satisfied?"
The long, fiery sarcastic sentence made Bastian laugh across the phone, which again he kept away from the ears.
"The word is do'a, Cell." Bastian chuckled again when Ansel chose not to respond. "Come on, you're not there to work, how long do you want to last?"
"As fast as I can." Ansel told the man about the plan later that night, then told him to prepare to pick up the next morning.
After ending the phone call with Bastian, Ansel looked around. Then confused what to do. His job is to follow the youngest daughter of the owner of this house, who turns out to be punished should not go anywhere.
Deciding to go back to the workspace Mr. Justin is certainly not a useful idea, given the many pairs of eyes that could have seen his actions.
.
By nightfall, Ansel met Uncle Handi who was sitting at the security guard post, the man was back in uniform.
Ansel had changed his clothes with a black shirt as well as material pants with the same color, a special uniform that he got from the host in order to distinguish him from other workers. Wearing clothes like this, he felt like he was becoming a real bodyguard.
To his uncle, Ansel asked many things, including anyone who lived in this house. He had met a man and his wife who he guessed was the parents of the girl Berna Jira, as well as his younger brother who was a toddler.
"That's Mr. Justin's second son, they do live here. If his brother has his own home. They'll visit once a week."
Ansel nodded, but did not respond. And it made the uncle continue his words again.
"Then, Mr. Justin was too focused on his first son, probably because Den Nino was smart and reliable. When another teenager entered college, he began to study at his father's office." Handi also slightly recounted an unexpected incident when finally the master was aware of his mistake. But after all, the affection of the busy man was truly abundant for his daughter's son, especially Sena.
Ansel asked how long Uncle Handi had served in this house as a security guard. The man then answered long enough, until he knew very well the ins and outs of the building, as well as the properties of its inhabitants.
"Uncle doesn't want to work anywhere else?"
The question made the uncle look up. "If you've got a comfortable place, why look for a new place. They're the good guys who humanize the workers. Uncle wants to be here."
The words left Ansel stunned. Guilt began to spread in his heart, what if he was caught and Uncle Handi was affected. Ansel was afraid that it would upset his uncle, or at worst, the man was fired from his job.
Ansel must be kind here, at least he must not leave without permission. At the man he would give a reason to resign and look for a new job. After all they also know, no one feels at home to be the youngest daughter's bodyguard in the house.
Their attention was distracted by the black car that stopped in front of the gate, the uncle immediately ran to open it. Ansel also stood up, welcoming Mr. Justin's second son who had just returned home from work.
"You're Sena's bodyguard?"
The question made Ansel look up, staring at the man behind the wheel who was barely passing him. When they met in the morning, they did not have time to greet each other because the man was in a hurry.
"Iya–," a moment Ansel was confused as to what to call. "Young master," he added, recalling the workers at the father's house, as he called himself.
"Where's Sena?"
"Still in his room, sir."
The man raised an eyebrow, looking suspicious, as if such a thing was something he would be unlikely to hear.
Ansel turned to Uncle Handi as the car in front of him passed into the garage. The man simply nodded in response, telling his nephew to obey his master's orders earlier.
.
Along with a man named Jino, Ansel entered the house, looking hesitant when going up the stairs.
"Battle Jio!" The call made both of them look.
Jino catches her son jumping into a sling. The toddler looked happy to welcome his father home.
"Where's mom?" Jino asked.
"Yet, help Jia to become a pe'el" the boy replied with his slurred language.
Jino nodded, after inquiring about the whereabouts of the oma that the child answered, she then asked again if her son saw Sena coming out of the room.
"So Ante to the dapul, grab a drink, glide up again. Ante gamau play Jidan."
Hearing his son Jino's reply laughed. "Yaudah, Jidan played the same as me."
"You."
Noticing the interaction of father and son before him, Ansel was stunned for a moment. He had been in this position before, standing quite far away from the papa and watching his brother greet the man happily. Only he dared not do it.
"Askar."
The call made Ansel a little jump, immediately bowed respectfully and apologized for daydreaming and not listening to him.
"Is there a problem?" Jino asked concernedly, lowered her son from the sling and told him to go to the room first.
Ansel shook his head. "No young master" he said.
Jino sounded a little laugh. "No need to be too formal, consider me this is your brother. Titip Sena, she's a difficult girl to control, you can't look weak in front of her."
Ansel looked up, hearing that of course he felt moved. Even the brother who flowed in the same as himself did not want to admit it.
After nodding, Ansel looked down again. Confused how to behave with the family, because he learned from his workers at home. They respect this to their master.
"It's okay if you have to break through Sena's room to make sure she is still inside or not, your job is to take care of her. Whatever you do if it comes to my sister's safety, we won't mind. Including dragging him home if he's caught running off to nightlife."
After uttering that long sentence, Jino then patted him on the shoulder and stepped away from there. Leaving Ansel in a dilemma to climb up the stairs or not.
Being in front of Sena's room door, Ansel was increasingly hesitant, never before had he entered a woman's room. His association in high school was only limited to sitting sepja with female students, even then only occasionally. And before long, the father decided to send him away from the family. His friend here isn't much, only Bastian will come to him.
Several times Ansel knocked on the door of the blue-painted room before him, but there was no reply from within.
"Miss Lasena, are you still inside?" Ansel came back knocking even harder, could it be true that the girl had already left her room secretly.
Ansel pressed the door handle that turned out to be unlocked, he then opened it. Surprised by the presence of a girl standing behind him.
The girl looked annoyed, their gazes met. Ansel immediately threw away his face when he realized that the woman was taking off her shirt.
"Sorry," sorry.
