Chapter 7: The Work

Chapter 7: The Work

After that, all the problems are done. I came home on foot alone with the pleasure of having earned so much money. But on the way, I saw a man who looked like someone I knew being confronted by thugs in an alley.

That man is Molda. I immediately rushed towards her to help her. There were five thugs and one of them had a large body. But luckily from my appraiser's eyes I found no sign of them being witches, in other words they were just plain thugs.

I instantly used the [Boost] physical enhancement magic to add my speed to the move, and within seconds, I was in front of them and at a time when I had not had the time to land my feet on the ground, I kicked one of the thugs in the head and threw him against the wall, cracking him.

All of the thugs were shocked and now realized that I, their leader, was shouting and telling everyone to attack me. I then jumped into the wall to give me a fighting room.

I then activated my water magic, [Water Ball] along with [Enhance] to grind my spells so that I could produce more magic in one spell. This is very useful when dealing with many enemies, but magic control is also the most important thing to be able to use this magic.

I created four water balls at once and attacked all the remaining thugs to make them throw towards the wall, but all that remained was the leader who had a strong physique.

Now I have to fight their strong-looking leader. I used my water magic again, [Water Burst] to distract him and immediately I ran up to the thug and prepared my melee attack by creating a sword using [Create] creation magic.

That way I can slash it easily, especially coupled with the [Boost] strengthening magic earlier so that it makes me move so nimble and cut off the two thugs' hands. Now there are no more thugs who can fight so I created a binding object by using [Create] to make the thug unable to move so I can bring it to the authorities.

I approached Molda, who was seen from her gloomy face. I took him to a place that was a little brighter than in the alley and invited him to talk about the incident. I had to gather a lot of information from him so that things didn't go any worse.

"What are you doing in that alley? Isn't it with your magic that you can defeat him easily." Much

"I....I can't do it. If I do it only makes my situation worse. I thank you for helping me, but they will definitely come back, so get the hell out of me now." Said Molda to me while pushing me away.

"Whatchu mean? Even if it's just like that don't worry, I'm very strong. You just need to tell me."

Afterwards Molda said everything about the problem. He is the son of a family of famous water magicians in the city of Bergain, but his family considers him a useless child because he is not able to use water magic well so Molda decided to enter the academy. But the problem is, his family did not want to finance him at all so Molda was looking for a way to get into the academy.

Then Molda borrowed money from the merchant but the merchant gave him an address to a secret organization and borrowed money there with a note that the money had to be returned within two months. Right after the new student ceremony started. But for two months Molda has been working but the money is still less because there is interest as much as 20% every month. And so Molda is now being pursued by the organization and doesn't want to involve me there.

"By the way, how much do you owe?" Ask me again

"I borrowed it for about two gold coins. If the flowers are counted now my debt is about two gold eight hundred silver." The answer.

"Then let me pay" I replied.

"Wait a minute! How can you pay for it, that much money is impossible to get" Molda said in surprise.

"I just got some compensation money from the Dafire family. So isn't that a problem?" I asked to help him

"It's not better if you wear it for you and your family. Don't waste your money on people you don't know." Reply Molda to refuse money from me.

"Are we not friends? As friends we have to help each other, so it doesn't matter" I asked again.

"But still, I can't take that much money." Refused again.

Now I have to think of another way to help her take care of her problem. And then I remembered something, from what I heard in the academy a lot of students who signed up as adventurers to earn extra money. Due to the academy fees being so expensive and paid every semester, there were so many students working in Guilds. Therefore, I think that becoming an Adventurer is the only way left.

"Then, how about we register as adventurers? I heard the money made to be adventurous is quite a lot and may be able to pay your debt" Invite me.

"An adventurer, yeah, I don't think that's a bad idea. All right I'll sign up now."

Afterwards Myself and Molda rushed towards the Guild that was in this city, the Talnear Guild. Guilds were also divided into two, the first ordinary Guild that contained mostly ordinary citizens, while the Elite Guild contained nobles who wanted to adventure freely. Even so, these two guilds contradict each other due to many things, especially caste.

And it was clear that I would head to an ordinary Guild, after all it was impossible for me to break into an Elite Guild. But entering an ordinary Guild was also usually quite difficult, starting from fighting tests and so on, too, however, for academy students will be given ease by directly receiving it but starting from the lowest rank to minimize the danger that will occur to academy students.

Until a few minutes passed, we arrived at a building so tall and spacious. It has a solid wall and is very nice to look at. A loud sound was heard even from outside. This the Adventurers Guild. Molda and I decided to go inside, and luckily when we entered we were greeted by one of the receptionists so we didn't have to be confused about signing up.

"Is there anything we can help you with?" Ask the receptionist.

"We want to register as adventurers" I replied

"Then do you have an ID card or something?"

"Sure" I replied while handing over my student card and Molda's card as well.

The receptionist looked at the card carefully to see if it was real or not and after a few seconds, He returned our card.

"The check is over, Mr. Loid, and Mr. Molda. Non-element Class. Congratulations to you for being adventurers, but before that I'd like to explain this."

"Being an adventurer is not easy, the first thing to note is safety. For students like you, if you encounter a powerful monster please return soon to report, and do not fight it. Second do not work on missions above your level, for starters you will be given an F rank and it will rise as many missions have been completed. And lastly don't mess up on the mission." Reciprocation

"Next I will explain the level, Here there is a ranking system, starting from the lowest rank F and the highest rank A. But there used to be one that reached the S Rank and until now there is still no one to achieve it. And then, you can take the missions that are there according to your rank, for students like you are also prohibited from taking above your rank, unless there are veteran adventurers accompanying. All right, there's nothing else I need to explain, but I'll give you a monster guidebook."

"Thank you for the explanation."

After that, Molda and I walked to the place to take the mission that was shown by the receptionist until We arrived at a place that contained many boards with various letters on it starting from A until F. We knew that the board containing the paper on display was a mission given to the adventurer and that Me and Molda walked towards the board that read F on it.

I looked at the board clearly, there were a lot of missions on display, starting from picking herbs to defeating [Sewer Rat - F]. But I saw the pay from the mission was only about 10 to 50 bronze.

"The payment is very little, if it's like this it will be very long to be able to pay your debt" I said.

"Better I just give up" Reply Molda with a moody expression.

"Wait a minute, even though the cost is low, but the defeated monsters belong to adventurers, in other words We can sell monster parts." My reply.

But that way, I can look for something a little more valuable than that, like [Slime - F] The liquid can be used as a moisturizer, like, the magic core can be used to create a magic tool or magic purposes. But according to Slime's book weakness is fire, but the elements of water and wind are not so powerful.

"Then, how about taking on this mission?" I asked while holding a sheet of mission paper that had been stuck on the board.

[Beating 10 Slime - F]

Sender: Archaea (Farmer)

Terms: Witch Adventurer Rank F

Min Party: 1-2 Members

Solution: Defeating 10 Slime

Location: Grassland West of Talnear City

Prize: 50 Bronze

Description :

During the summer many Slime gathered in the pasture, not infrequently they moved to the farmer's field and ate up a lot of crops so that it could cause farmers to experience severe crop failure. If it is not resolved, then a food crisis can occur.

"I guess..... That doesn't matter" Molda said after seeing the mission.

From what I see, this mission is not a bad mission, especially the special conditions for witches like us. And again if you look at the solution that says to defeat and not surrender, in other words the part of the monster that we defeat is our right.

Then Molda and I walked to the reception desk and said they were going to apply for this mission, and were immediately accepted. But the receptionist called me when she turned around.

"Wait a minute, I forgot to say that on the academy identity card you have automatically added an adventurer identity card by pressing the button on the card. So with that card you can register a party so that the monster killed by one of you will be recorded as a party. And there are many useful features embedded. That's it, congratulations on starting your first hunt." Evidently.

Afterward, Molda and I walked out of the Guild building and checked the academy identity card given during the new student ceremony, and it was seen that the card had changed. When activated by streaming magic there are two buttons. The first was the Academy Identity Card, and the second was the Adventurer Identity Card.

I tried pressing the Adventurer Identity Card and found the top of it containing my name and my rank. And at the bottom there is another button and that button consists of the number of defeated monsters, parties, maps, banks, and so on. But before checking it out I better make a party with Molda first.

Afterward, Molda and I decided to hurry up to finish the mission quickly and move on to another mission. I opened the map and found a red dot in the western part of the city which meant that it was the place where we were going to start the mission that we had earlier.

By opening the map I searched for a shortcut from the top, thanks to the magic of my detector as well I found the quiet and fastest way. I ran along with Molda whom I had strengthened with [Boost] magic to speed up the journey.

A few seconds later we finally arrived at the place with no problems at all. And for the first time I'm out of town for getting an identity card that can be used to get out of town.

Then focusing on the mission, we arrived at the prairie according to what was shown on the map and I saw a lot of Slime gathered and when I detected almost hundreds of slimes there. That way, the source of money is in sight.

I pulled Molda down for a while and whispered a plan to eradicate it all. I explained that the Slime was not too powerful when faced with water magic. But not working does not mean can not, I said to keep attacking him by making him drown with a large water ball.

Although Slime looks like a watery ball, it does not mean that Slime is not breathing. In other words, by making him not breathe could kill that Slime. This is the easiest way to beat Slime in the past because it has often damaged the plant. But sometimes I kept it in my room at that time.

Molda then creates a water ball one by one towards the Slime and maintains its shape so that when it hits the Slime the water ball does not break and sucks the Slime and makes it sink. But if done one one will take a long time, therefore I use my water magic together with [Enhanced] to multiply my air ball.

I then doubled my spell a hundred times in one spell. Even though it only takes up a little bit of my magic energy because it is only limited to low elements. That way, in one strike I made all Slime instantly drown.

"If it's like that everything becomes very easy huh" said Molda.

"I'll teach you that tomorrow, first separate the body parts and take the most important parts like the mucus, the skin, the magic core." My orders.

That way, Milda and I moved quickly to collect Slime's body one by one and started to take out the most important parts of it that could be sold like magic core, skin, mucus. And all of those parts I put into my magic chamber that I created specifically to store monster body parts.

And within a few minutes, we finally finished everything and I saw that in my magic complex I had collected about 94 Magic Intents along with the rest. Molda and I decided to return immediately and report the mission was complete.

Upon arrival at the Guild, I walked towards the receptionist and said that the mission had been completed. The receptionist then asked for my guild card and checked the number of monsters we had defeated. And he was surprised when he saw the number of Slime we beat. But then he gave me the money and gave me back my card and told me his mission had been confirmed.

I then asked where I could sell the part of the monsters that had been defeated, and the Receptionist pointed towards the second floor. And I then climbed up the stairs and found a room so crowded that I saw another reception desk with an inscription on it that said Trade Guild.

Out of curiosity I tried to get closer and was approached by one of the receptionists there.

"Can I help you?" Ask the receptionist.

"I want to sell the part of the monster I've defeated. One of the receptionists downstairs said that this is the place to sell the monster parts" I replied

"Truely, Here is the Trading Guild that regulates all transactions that occur in this city including buying and selling goods." Evidently

"Then, I want to sell this slime piece" I replied as I took out all the Slime pieces I collected with Molda.

Because of the large amount that made the items I took out fill the reception desk so I put the rest on another table.

"Wait a minute, We'll check the quality and quantity" he said.

I then waited for a while and within a few minutes everything was done in check and counted one by one by the receptionist.

"94 Core Magic Slime, 24 Liter Slime Slime, 94 Skin Slime. For the price of one Slime Magic Core was about 5 Bronze, 1 Liter Slime Slime Slime was 10 Bronze, and one Slime skin was 2 bronze. Total 898 Bronze." Clearly while handing over a bag containing hundreds of bronze pieces.

I received the money and went straight to see Molda. This is a small amount compared to what is needed. So I told Molda to continue taking on the mission, so, starting from [Gathering Herbal Plants - F] which we easily completed by using search magic and getting about 60 from missions and 540 from selling some because We took quite a lot of herbs.

But still it is less. The money we have now is still 1 Silver 548 Bronze. It was getting dark, so we decided to continue tomorrow because we also have to study at night.
