Dying While Dreaming
Death Premonitions

Kantin Jakarta Asri Building on the 2nd floor, at 12.00 WIB.

A woman is taking a call. She is the owner of a canteen in Jakarta Asri Building, Susi. 6 years ago she rented the canteen using her husband's insurance claim money that died due to a work accident in an oil palm factory. Previously, the canteen was held by a woman for dozens of years. But the woman was old and could no longer work. While his children no one wants to continue

the canteen business. Change hands with Susi.

“So sir later the bond I have my son deliver to the father's room what time is it about?” ask Susi from behind the phone.

“Oh around 3pm yes sir. Okay. Anyway this group from the 3rd floor yes sir,” said Susi.

“Siap, ready. Come, thank you Mr. Toni,” Susi said with a fluffy smile.

Susi approached Sari who was wiping dishes and glasses.

“Sari, mama was called the same Mr. Toni, the boss of the office on the 3rd floor. What's the name of the company?” tanya Susi, who is Sari's biological mother.

“Public Consulting Tarumanegara ma,” replied Sari while wiping some dishes.

“Yes, the! Mr. Toni calls him to buy all his employees. So if someone comes for lunch here, it's free. But the bond is made, so you can bill it later to him because Mr. Toni does not have lunch at

here,” is obviously Susi who is called an employee there by the name Madam Susi. Susi is not much different from Sari who has a cheerful character.

“Oke ma,” Sari said as she held her thumbs up in front of Susi.

The Tarumanegara Public Consulting group of employees came to the cafeteria. They seem to be talking to each other. Claire is also with them in the front row with Tiara, Tarumanegara's head of Public Consulting marketing. Sari who saw their arrival immediately welcomed.

“Siang everything. Rame yes. Coming together,”ujar Sari.

“Iya Sar we want to day here,” said Claire.

“Iya bu Claire earlier my mom was on the same phone sir Toni,” said Sari.

“OK. We sit yes,” Claire told Sari.

“Please bu. I take the pen and paper first,” said Sari.

Sari picked up a pen and paper and approached Claire's entourage. He is very good at work. He is 18 years old and just finished High School two months ago. His mother asked Sari to continue

college but Sari refused for at least a year. He said he still wanted to help his mother in the cafeteria. Indeed, Sari often went to the cafeteria every time she went home from school. But now he was there from morning until afternoon with his mother, chef, and 3 canteen employees.

“Mbak Ratna ask that there yes. Let me be here,” Sari's orders to Ratna, one of the canteen officials.

“OK Sar,” shouted Ratna.

“Halo bu Claire, mas Sani, mbak Dila, and ma'am what's his name?” call Sari and ask the name of one of them.

“Tiara her name is Sar,” says Claire.

“Oh bu Tiara's. Often see but never acquaintance,” said Sari smiled.

“Sar, I ordered the beef team rice and orange ice. I want a snack of fried shrimp lumpia. The other spring rolls fried?” said Claire.

All that one table with Claire nodded.

“Then the fried shrimp lumpia 4 servings yes,” Claire told Sari.

“Siap ma. What about the others?” ask Sari.

“I'm the same as Claire. But drink it.” Sani said.

“Conton juice,” Sari said.

“Iiiiiih know you are Sar. Can you do it?” sani.

“No mas but Sani often order melon juice,” said Sari.

“You rarely serve me when you eat here,” Sani said.

“Can I pay attention,” Sari said.

“Cieeee, watch out for Sari nih,” joking Dila on Sani.

“Apaan sag Dil,” Sani said.

“Eh mbak Dila don't get me wrong. I mean Sari, pay attention to customers. You can know what you like and don't like. So it's not that kind of attention,” obviously Sari is a little embarrassed.

“He deh. I drink like Sani. But eating fried noodles seafood,” said Dila.

“Oke. If it's Tiara?” ask Sari.

“Ehm what is it? Same with Claire but drink lemon juice,” said Tiara friendly.

“OK. My order will be delivered soon. Excuse me,” pampit Sari and immediately prepare the order.

Sari went to the kitchen cafeteria and helped concoct food ingredients. While Sadam Susi assisted Joko, the chef of the canteen was busy with frying pans. Activities in the cafeteria were never quiet even though working hours were in progress. There are only those who order and ask to be delivered to their respective rooms.

“Mbak Ratna try to see in the order paper, melon juice how many cups yes?” sari asked as she picked up a melon from the refrigerator.

“Shortly. One, two, three, four, five, six.there are six Sar,” Ratna said.

“If the orange juice?” ask Sari again while cutting the melon.

“The orange juice is there, briefly yes.it looks like one deh.iya it is only one Sar,” Ratna said.

“Oh just one yes. Means that order iced oranges only mbak Claire,” said Sari while continuing to cut melons.

“I tried to recap another drink order yes all I wrote to make it good for him. Lemon juice there are three, sweet iced tea there are 5, and 3 glasses of cucumber ice,” Ratna said.

“Oke mbak,” says Sari while cutting melon fruit with a sharp knife.

While Sari prepares the order, Claire is seen chatting with her co-worker. Sani considers the moment an opportunity for him to ask about the departure of Siska to Medan.

“Mbak Claire will return from Medan bring souvenirs yes,” said Sani tried fishing Tiara.

“Iya. Bawain dong is typical what it is. Bika ambon tuh said it was good,” continued Dila who did not know anything.

Claire glanced at Tiara and tried to calmly answer Sani and Dila's request.

“Iya I must have brought. Relax,” Claire replied.

Tiara slightly lowered her head as if unwilling to join the conversation.

“Tiara, you also want me to bring souvenirs,” Claire said kindly.

“Ehm, yes, may, if you don't mind Claire,” said Tiara a little hesitant.

“Not. Ntar I bring bika ambon and other cakes that are typical of Medan yes,” Claire said.

Tiara just smiled at Claire.

“Iya. So I can't wait to taste the souvenirs of Claire,” said Dila.

“Go just not Dil, you have told me to go home,” said Sani.

“Oh yes, I went to the toilet first yes,” Tiara said and left.

“OK. Don't be long after the food is cold,” said Tiara smiled.

Tiara simply nodded then headed for the toilet.

“Where to Claire?” ask Sani.

“More suspicious anyway,” Claire said.

“What's suspicious?” dila asked confusedly to Claire and Sani.

Sani and Claire forget there Dila with them.

“Suspicious that the food must be long in coming. Hungry Dil,” kelakar Sani on Dila.

“Ah is not about food. The person we talked to by-by from Medan,” said Dila suspicious.

“Yang said Sani was right Dil. Before we came here we would talk in the room. And then we confided in each other that we were both hungry. Well, I said to Sani, I suspect that there are already many

come to the canteen kayak we gini must be long ready for food. So, just now our thoughts come do not need to be together. So Madam Susi does not need the hassle of receiving our orders at once. Yes not San,” obviously Claire long.

“But mbak, madam Susi has been used to overcome kayak gini. More than this was ever. There are 3 employees. Plus Sari again. Sadam Susi is also assisted by chef Joko. So definitely not long,” bela

Dila.

“Ya has gone. We bet. If within 10 minutes the drinks and food haven't arrived, you buy me and Claire for lunch tomorrow here. If before 10 minutes the food has come, we will both treat you for two days in a row. How?” sergeant Sani is quick so that Dila does not extend his suspicion to the brief chat Claire and himself earlier.

“Iya, yes. I agree,” Claire said as she glanced at Sani.

“OK. Anyway want food or drink that comes, same?” tanya Dila was trying to affirm the rules of betting.

"Where is Jack? Not that he is the most excited if there is free," continued Dila while wailing.

"Yes, yes" said Claire, following the wobbly.

"Oh was with Mr. Toni to buy office supplies. At first it was not together here, but when I returned from the room mbak Claire, the Jack met with me I said that he did not become a follower," said Sani.

"Oh that," said Dila.

Claire just nodded hearing Sani's explanation.

In the kitchen of the cafeteria, Sari prepared to bring Claire's table-order drinks. There are two glasses of melon juice, one glass of lemon juice, and one glass of orange ice. He brought the order using a tray with a picture of Susi's madam face to Claire's desk.

“Halo his order has arrived,” shouted Sari friendly.

“That's right I said anything! Get ready to buy me two days in a row. Ma'am Claire is sincere, right?” said Dila in a mocking tone.

Sari was still standing with a tray filled with glasses. He smiles.

“Ikhlas Dil, we are both sincere,” said Claire smiled and glanced at Sani.

“It turns out to be true yes your guess Dil. Just also said that already came the drink,” said Sani pretending to be more confident Dila.

“Wah congratulations ya mbak Dila won the treaty. Oh yes this drink I put on the table yes,” said Sari.

Sari put two glasses of melon juice on the table.

“Sar tomorrow if Dila eats here, bill to mbak Claire. It just charges to me. Tomorrow again bill to the person directly yes. Because he rations are treated we only 2 days,” said Sani.

“Iya, yes, that is also udayangat,” said Dila smiled.

“Siap mas Sani. Please drink the melon juice. This is lemon juice for Tiara and this is for Claire, iced orange,”.

But suddenly the glass containing orange ice was released from Sari's hand. The glass shattered into pieces and scattered the contents inside. Everyone who was there was shocked. So did Tiara who just came out of the toilet. Claire stood up quickly as the glass almost hit her leg. Sari's chest suddenly hurt. The pain he felt 6 years ago, a few days before his father died. The incident reappeared.

“Sari, you why? Your chest hurts?” claire asked Sari who was in pain holding her chest.

But Sari just remained silent while grimacing. He saw Claire with a face of pain. The longer she looked, the more she saw a light gray mist surrounding Claire. Just as he had seen his father before.

“Mbak Claire!” sari pelan.

Madam Susi and Ratna approached Sari.

“You why nak?” ask madam Susi.

“Suddenly the glass slipped out of Sari's hand. Then she grimaced in pain like a madam gini,” Claire explained.

“Sorry madam before, Sari had a heartache?” ask Sani.

“No mas. Sari is healthy,” Susi replied.

“Keep why is he in pain ya madam?” sahut Dila's.

Madam Susi was silent. It was like keeping the answer to himself.

“Madam bring Sari in first yes. Ratna, please clean the broken glass and clean the orange juice. The orange ice you made is new. Come on Sari,” said madam flat and worried.

“Iya madam,” said Ratna while immediately standing up to take the cleaning tool.

Madam Susi memapah Sari who is still grimacing in pain. They went into the rest room of the canteen. Claire and her friends sat down. The atmosphere was calm again. Not long after the food came, so did the

order Claire's iced orange.

Meanwhile, Sari had already started to calm down. The pain has subsided.

“Sari you why?” susi asked her son who was still lying.

“Ma this pain as I felt a few days before father died,” replied Sari with a scared face.

“Had mama guessed. Can you still feel it?” susi.

“Entahlah. Sari thought this was gone. Since my father died, Sari has never felt this way again. Mama remembers when her grandparents died two years ago, Sari did not know anything,” said Sari.

“But you saw their spirits present time in the dream,” said Susi reminded Sari.

“Yes, if you see the subtle creatures are still up to now ma. But the premonition of one's death had long since not appeared. And just now Sari saw and a haze of light gray color behind mbak Claire,” said Sari gaze upwards.

“Already, already. I hope this is not a premonition about death. Maybe you're too tired. You rest this time. Don't help in the canteen. Let Ratna who collect to Pak Toni later,” said Susi.

“But ma, Sari has done nothing,” said Sari.

“Sari hear mommy ya son. Here, rest! There is nothing and do not think. Everything is fine,” pinta Susi on Sari.

“Ya already ma, Sari here aja waitin mama,” Sari.

“Iya. Later mama called mbok Kemi to prick you. Let her tiredness disappear,” Susi said then out of the room.
