...🌻🌻🌻🌻...

Jakarta

Lonely quiet.

Various tools are installed in the patient's body that is lying helplessly on the bed. All the tools are so smooth working without voicing any noise. As if supporting the martyrdom created when a beautiful woman dissolves in the chanting of the holy verse of the Qur'an beside the patient's bed. A tired face cannot be hidden. Black folds and lines under the eyes adorn a white face that is now paled signifies he is sleep deprived.

He is Cut Pearl Rahma. More familiar with the name Rahma. Now he sat holding the hand of the helpless man. Her husband, Johan Al Malik.

"Abang.open your eyes for a moment."

"I miss your messy look."

"That can't go..."

"What about me and Dika...."

"Please..wake up Brother..."

Lips vibrate. As much as Rahma's energy to withstand the stifling feeling in the chest so as not to spill into a sobbing. Because he had been crying too often when alone after the doctor sentenced Malik's illness. And this morning the doctor gave the latest news if Malik's condition was declining.

"Abang.bun," Rahma brought her face closer to Malik's ear while whispering softly. "When his father's miss. Especially me..."

Rahma kept asking Malik to chat. Because she could feel if her husband responded. Feel from the grip of a strengthened hand. Even he saw the corner of the tightly closed eye there was a puddle of water. This is the third day Malik is unconscious, no longer moaning because he is holding back the pain that attacks the head. Malik seemed to be sound asleep with regular breathing.

How not pity and sadness to see the current condition of Malik. Various life support tools fill the body. The closest family can only watch from behind the glass because only one person is allowed to accompany inside. Prayer is never broken by those who love Malik.

It all started 1 year ago...

"Abang nosebleed?" Rahma frowned in wonder as she turned to look at Malik who was driving. There was blood dripping slowly from the left nose without her husband realizing it.

"The hell." Malik was not even sure while still receiving a thread of a tissue from Rahma.

The nosebleed recurred 2 days later when Malik was inviting to play Mahardika (Dika), a mere puppet child. Even his blood dripped to the floor. This time there were nosebleeds from both nostrils. Malik's response was still relaxed, yet there was no pain it caused.

But a month later Malik complained of a sore throat and often dizziness suddenly. The general doctor's diagnosis is strep throat. Rahma also more maintain food intake for the husband by increasing the vegetable menu and avoiding fried foods. The pain that disappeared in the following month made Rahma force Malik to visit an ENT specialist. Moreover, plus the presence of a lump in the neck that is not visible but felt when touched.

A series of examinations at a bona fide clinic are carried out in several meetings. Start a physical examination with a question and answer medical history. Continued with nasopharyngoscopy and biopsy. Further examination with CT scan and MRI came to a conclusion. The doctor looked heavy-hearted to tell the news.

"I'm sorry to say, Mr. Malik has nasopharyngeal cancer."

"It's stage 3."

"The cancer has already spread to the lymph nodes on both sides of the neck, to the bones, and to the nearest sinus cavity."

The news that made Rahma shock and cry. But not with Malik who looks calm and tough. Turn to comfort Rahma. It is all God's will, he said.

The discipline of treatment is carried out by scheduling chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Ikhtiar who relentlessly had to swallow the bitter pill because 4 months ago the doctor stated if the cancer has increased to stage 4. Because cancer cells have spread to the brain and eyes.

"Silent. We're taking Malik to Singapore!"

He just nodded after Nico's advice at the time. When the departure procedure prepared for a week is completed, Malik's condition is not possible to board the plane. The family's decision to continue treatment in Jakarta.

Tit tit tit tit.

The sound of a monitor with a fast-moving line makes Rahma stunned from the mind that wanders through the flashbacks. Two nurses on standby in the monitoring room rushed in and checked Malik's condition.

"Bu Rahma please step back!"

He said he retreated backwards with his heart racing to see Malik open his eyes with a loud breath. I don't know who was the one who called out, because now the intense doctor treating had entered the room accompanied by Badru's father.

"Who will lead Mr Malik?" The doctor stared alternately at him and Dad. "It's not long to be."

"What-what do you mean?" Rahma seemed to be enveloped in panic. "Don't let go!" he shouted while holding the hand of one of the nurses who would release the tools attached to Malik's body. But his body was too weak that he lost when someone hugged his body from behind.

"Khlaskan Rahma..." Rahma heard a Holy voice saying withholding the cry. He felt that the room was filled with many people. The floor he was on seemed to sway and his eyes began to blur as soon as he heard his father say the shahadah. "Ashadu...ilaha.illah..."

Rahma still heard panicked voices calling her name. Before everything became dark and concentrated and his body crashed, drifting quickly into the dark passageway and stopping at the brightly-expanded and brightly lit light beam.

"I'm where..."

His gaze swept around. As far as the eye can see is just a stretch of green grass without edges with a shade of blue sky decorated with white smoke. He heard the water coming from his left side. A small river with its clear water seemed to reflect an image of itself. Cool and tranquilizing atmosphere.

"Bang Malik." a smile appeared on Rahma's lips as she saw the figure of a straight man dressed in all white out from behind the angsana tree.

He said Malik was holding his hand. Take him down the riverbank to a gazebo overlooking a lake. He had never seen a place this beautiful. Beautiful place's.

"Abang, where are we?" Rahma, who now sleeps on her back on a very soft mattress, looks at Malik who sleeps on his side with one hand supporting his head.

"This is where I live now."

"From today all the pain is gone."

"I can sleep well."

Rahma enjoyed the gentle caress of Malik's hand on her head. Strange, but before his body was very tired because he waited for Malik every day, day and night. Now tired it evaporates somewhere changed with a sense of lightness enveloping the body.

"So we're gonna stay here?" Rahma's eyes looked brightly lit.

"Not us, but me."

"Mother go home, dika nangis nyariin you..."

"Say the same Dika, dear father Dika, very dear..."

Rahma shook her head strongly. "If I can't be here, let's go home together."

Malik did not answer. Only her lips curled up a sweet smile.

"I love you, baby."

Rahma felt the peace of heart as Malik's lips kissed her forehead, deep and long. Unexpectedly, the soft mattress he was sleeping on slowly widened until it split apart separating him and Malik became distant. As much as her hand reached out and called the name of her husband who began to move away. But his voice was so heavy and stuck in the esophagus. Even his body was heating up so trying to exert energy in order to scream loudly.

"Remember...."

"Yet-san..."

"Don't go, Bang. Hicks..." Rahma sobbed with a crumbling body feeling dim. He could not get up to just chase Malik who was more distant, turned into a point and no longer visible.

"Rahma, wake up son. Istigfar...."

Rahma opened her eyes after hearing Uma's voice calling her name over and over again. The smell of white wood feels warm and fresh filling the nose so that it breathes. Slowly he blinked his eyes and stared at the ceiling of the room with fluorescent lights that made his forehead shrivel due to glare.

Isn't this in my room?

Rahma momentarily collected lives because she could not understand the events she had experienced. His heart felt like he was riding a roller coaster because he had just experienced sadness and happiness at one time. And now his heart felt tight and sore. He spread his gaze to the people who were swarming with a puffy face. There are Uma, Suci, Salma, and Umi.

The sound of the people teaching clearly filled his sense of hearing.
