Dorm Princess

Dorm Princess
New life

Sunday morning on the bike I was hugged by my father with a big bag and a backpack that I was holding. My mother

also drove me but my mom took public transportation because there's no way we could ride a motorbike three and we don't have money to buy a car. If only you had the money to buy a car, it would be nice to be delivered with mom and dad, so we can chat together and without having to be tight because of my big bag. Ahh just be ushered father and mother alone has made me happy at least they still want to take the time for me. On the bike you just keep quiet I did too, but suddenly you talk

Father : “Dek, I hope you feel at home in your dorm.”

Me : “Iya sir!”.

Father : “Dek, you who are diligent yes learn it must be diligent do not let

you wasted this opportunity that even you never had!.”

Me : “Iya pak doain Gita ya” (while holding back tears)

My name is Gita, this year I went to high school. My father and mother decided that I should go to school in the city because they hoped that at the school they chose I could get a complete educational facility. I come from a village whose atmosphere I always miss even though it is small but the people are big-hearted. Before, my mother had told me that I would attend school in the city and would enter the dormitory because they felt asarama was the right place to leave their only daughter. It's hard to be separated from our parents but I hope with the magnitude of the sacrifices we all make

a glimmer of hope will come later.

After six hours of driving, finally me and my father arrived in front of the dorm. Afraid

because from today I have to be able to live independently and sad to have to leave my parents.

Father : “We wait for mother in front of this gate only yes!”

Father : “Dek, do not be afraid that you will often come to your dorm. Here you will meet new people which means you will meet new friends as well, believe your father will have a lot of life experience and a lot of learning here.”

I can only be silent, confused what to answer but I hope you are right. Finally my mother arrived, the three of us went into the dormitory to meet the hostel mother. I was escorted to my room while my father and mother were still waiting for me at the dorm office. I went into the room to put my bag and backpack into bed, there were three new faces I had never seen before. I smiled at them, they returned my smile thank God I thought they would not reply. After I put my bag down without a chance

getting acquainted with them, I rushed back to the office to meet my parents.

I take my father and mother to the boarding gate, I want it to feel like I'm taking it home but it's not funny, so until the gate just think I.

Mom : “Dek, bucket and pillow you have bought ya later just asked the same mother!”

Me : “Makasih ya ma'am, mother same father take care of health yes there and doain gita here.”

Mom : “Mom's prayers are in your every step son.”

After driving them I began to determine in my heart that I would not cry, I had to be independent and had to quickly adapt to new people. I went into the room again I dared to say hello to my new friends. I started introducing myself to them and them too and we started exchanging

stories from each other. I finally found out my roommate's name, dana, nesly and nova. The night bell rings to mark dinner and that means we should gather for dinner together. The five of us rushed to the dining room, the night was so crowded it felt like everyone had started familiarizing themselves with each other. After dinner, the hostel mother began to read out the rules of the dorm and divide

we are in a group because our dormitory must do all the needs of the dormitory such as cooking, washing dishes, and sweeping we must do it carefully. After dinner, we started to do our jobs. My life will be happy here I thought.
