Dog of Death By Agatha Christie

Dog of Death By Agatha Christie
Death Dog #4

I made an appointment with Dr. Rose the next day, and we went together to meet Sister Marie Angelique. Today Dr. Rose is very friendly. I think he wants to change the impression he showed yesterday.

“Don't take my words too seriously,” he said with a laugh.

“I don't want you to consider me a playmaker on occult practices. My weakness is worse, I

it's curious to find proof.”

“Ooo... yes?”

“Ya, and the more fantastic a case, the more I like it.” He laughs, like a man who laughs at weakness

feels ridiculous.

When we arrived at the cottage, the district nurse wanted to talk to Dr. Rose, so I was left with Sister Marie Angelique.

I saw the nurse looking at me intently. Then he spoke.

“The good nurse told me, that you are the brother of that good woman, the woman in the big house where I live, when I just came; from Belgium. Really it?”

“Ya.” sahutku.

“He is very friendly to me. She's very nice.”

Then he fell silent, as if he were following his path of thought

by oneself.

Then he said, “M. le docteur, he is also a good person?”

I was a little awkward to answer.

“Eh, yes. I mean.. I think so.”

“Ah!” The nurse was silent for a moment, then said. “She has been very good to me all this time.” Then he looked at me with

sharpest.

“Monsieur... You. Do you think I'm out of my mind?”

“Ah, Sister, that kind of thing never.”

He shook his head slowly, interrupting my protest.

“Am I not sane? I don't know.. things I remember.. things I don't remember...” He sighed, and at that moment Dr.

Rose came into the room.

She greeted Sister Marie Angelique cheerfully, and explained what she wanted from her.

“Look, there are certain people who have the talent to see various events in the crystal ball. I feel you have that kind of talent, Sister.”

Sister Marie Angelique looked agitated.

“No, no, I can't do that, trying to read the future is sinful.”

Dr. Rose was surprised. He did not take into account the point of view that was the basis for the sister's rejection.

With

cleverly he changed his tactics.

“We must not try to see the future. You are absolutely right. But if you look to the past.. that's another case.”.

“Seeing the past?”

“Yes. There have been many strange events in the past. Various glimpses of events that reappeared, visible

for a moment, then disappeared again. Don't try to read anything inside the crystal ball, if that's not true. Just hold the ball in both hands, like this. Look in it, look at it. Yes.. more carefully. You remember, don't you? You recall. You heard me talking to you. You can answer my questions. Can you hear me?”

Sister Marie Angelique had already taken the crystal ball, as the doctor had ordered, and held it in an attitude

seriously a strange one. Then, as he looked at the crystal ball his pair of eyes became empty and glared, then his head drooped.

“We must wait until he awakens. I'm sure it won't be long.”

Also true. Five minutes later, Sister Mafie Angelique started to move slightly. Both of his eyes opened half-consciously.

“Where am I?”

“You are here... at home. You just fell asleep for a moment. You were dreaming, weren't you?”

The nurse nodded. “Ya, I dream.”

“You dreamed about that Crystal Ball?”

“Ya.”

“Try telling us that dream.”

“You will assume I am not sane, M. Le Docteur's. For in my dream the Crystal Ball was a holy emblem.

I even saw the figure of a second Christ, the Crystal Ball Master who died for his faith, his followers hunted down and put to death... But that belief persisted.

“Ya... for fifteen thousand full moon.. I mean, for fifteen thousand years.”.

“How long is the full moon cycle?”

“Thirteen regular month circulation. Yes, on the fifteenth full moon of the thousand.I became the Priestess of the Fifth Sign.

the Crystal Ball House. Those were the first days leading up to the arrival of the Sixth Sign.” The two sisters eyebrows were clinging together, her face implying fear.

“Too fast “ muttered.

“Too fast. It's a mistake... Uh! Yes, I remember! The Sixth Sign..” He half jumped up, then sat back down

put a hand on his face, and murmured.

“What am I talking about? I'm rambling. None of this ever happened.”

“Do not make yourself anxious.”

But Sister Marie Anigelique was staring at Dr. Rose with a confused expression mixed sadly.

“M. Le Docteur, I don't understand. Why do I have these dreams? I was only six

twelve years when I entered the monastery. I never travel. But I like to dream about cities, foreigners, foreign cultures. Why?” He pressed both hands against his forehead.

“Are you hypnotized, Sister? Or experiencing trance?”

“I've never been hypnotized, M. le docteur. Regarding trance, when I pray in a chapel, my spirit often seems to fly from my body, and for hours I feel like a dead person. It was clearly a happy situation, when

full of blessings, said the Abbot Mother. Uh! Yes,” he stuck.

“I remember, we called it, when full of blessings”.

“I want to try conducting Sister experiments,” says Dr. Rose with a firm tone.

“Maybe this experiment could

breaking down unpleasant memories that only appear in half. I'll ask you one more time

staring at the crystal ball. Then I'll say a certain word you answer in another word. We'll carry on like that until you're tired. Focus your mind on the crystal ball, not on his words”.

Once again I took out the crystal ball and gave it to Sister Marie Angelique, and I saw her touch the ball

knistal was in a respectful manner. The crystal ball was draped in a black velvet cloth, and Sister Marie Angelique held it between her slender palms.

His deep and enchanting gaze was fixed on that crystal ball. A moment's silence, then

Dr. Rose says,“Dog.”

Immediately Sister Marie Angelique replied, “Death”.
