After the dawn prayers of Father and Mr. Edi around the village, they take a walk to enjoy the fresh morning air around the rice fields. The cool atmosphere, the view of the terraced rice fields with green rice plants stretches add to the beauty of the village of Anyelir which is located between the foothills. Coolness, beauty, tranquility, away from the hustle and bustle of the vehicle, away from factory pollution made Mr. Edi reluctant to leave the place.
Villagers who in fact have a livelihood as farmers have begun to go downstairs by carrying various equipment they need such as hoes, sickles and others and bring provisions for their breakfast such as tea, tea, and so on, coffee and other cakes and snacks.
They greeted each other, jokingly walking hand in hand towards the rice field where they worked. The compactness, hospitality that is still thick is very visible when they treat Mr. Edi not like a stranger who has just arrived in their village.
Interaction chatter ensued between Mr. Edi, father and the residents, they sat in a hut on the edge of the rice field while enjoying tea, coffee, cakes they brought. Various talks about city life make villagers curious, so they ask questions to Mr. Edi. While Mr. Edi who had started to love with village life asked about the problem of agriculture and plantations. In his heart had grown a desire if one day he had retired from his duties, he wanted to spend his old days with a life like in the village of Carnations. Edi wanted to spend the rest of his life as a farmer.
After they were satisfied to talk, Dad then took Mr. Edi to the river. It turned out that before they left, Dad had prepared provisions for fishing in the form of several hooks, threads and bait in his bag.
Mr. Edi was very happy to see the river there whose water flowed rapidly, the water was so clear and seen small fish swimming in it. He felt the freshness of the river water as he washed his hands, face and set his feet on the shallow bank of the river.
Meanwhile, Dad was busy looking for some small logs on the edge of the river and then tied the thread, hook eyes and bait he had brought.
After the hook and bait eyes are all attached, I also leave two fishing rods that one for him and another for Edi sir. While some of the remaining fishing rods he plugged on the edge of the river with threads and bait that dangled into the river. Now the fishing line is ready to wait for the fish that come approaching.
Dad approached Edi, gave him a fishing rod that he had left earlier, both of them began to be engrossed in their activities. Excitement is seen when the fish begin to eat the bait attached to their fishing line. The fishing rod in the hand of the father began to move indicating that there had been fish stuck in the eyes of the hook. Immediately the father pulled and raised the fishing line in his hand, saw a sizable cork fish caught there. Father and Mr. Edi were so happy that Mr. Edi shouted,
" Wow... can big fish sir, pull sir..pull....pull continue not to be separated! "
When the attention of Mr. Edi is still focused on the fish that father can, it turns out the fishing rod in his hand was shaking and then jolted strongly, almost released from his hand if he did not immediately pull it. Mr. Edi then raised the fishing line turns out a large catfish has been stuck in the eye of the hook. Mr. Edi was excited to see his efforts get satisfactory results.
Both continue to be engrossed in their activities until the clock does not feel it has shown at half twelve noon and they turned out to have received quite a lot of bait. Mr. Edi is fond of fishing, so when Dad invited him home actually he did not want to end his activities but time does not allow them to linger there.
"Let's pack us home, my wife and Carnation must have been waiting for us for lunch! "
"I'm actually not satisfied sir fishing, end of exclamation anyway, it's a fish that we get a lot and great anyway. My son would be happy if I brought him here. Someday I will definitely come back here and maybe buy some land so we can settle down here".
"Oh....Edi loves this place !!! me and the people would love to receive Mr. Edi and his family if they want to stay here".
"Yes sir, since the beginning of coming here it feels like I have fallen in love with this village, later when I am free of duty I will definitely come here to bring my family".
Meanwhile, Carnations and mothers at home after the death of Father and Mr. Edi this morning, they together clean the house, go to the market to buy souvenirs and buy ingredients for their lunch menu. This afternoon mom and Anye cook rendang jengkol, sambal salted fish chili green and sauteed kale saute. The menu is quite simple but always evocative of the appetite for those who see it.
All the dishes were served at the dinner table when Dad and Mr. Edi returned from fishing. They then cleaned themselves, and Dad invited Edi to lunch together. It turns out that the served menu is the favorite of Father and Mr. Edi, they enjoy it very greedily because it tastes very delicious and appetizing.
"This food is very delicious, Mother and Non Anye turned out to be very good at cooking. It looks simple but taste luxurious, you know the non cuisine chef hotel Master!"
"I'm serious Non, sir would be happy and lucky if later married to non Anye..has been good, beautiful and good at cooking anyway".
"Amiiin.", replied the mother and father together.
"That's all we expect sir, the happiness of our daughter's household by getting a husband who loves and loves her" said the mother of Anyelir.
Anye who heard that could only be silent, could only monologue inwardly, " Had you known my position later in this marriage only to give birth to offspring without any love from my husband maybe you would never have allowed me to marry Satya ".
Mr. Edi who saw the change of sikaf Anyelir knew what the girl was thinking. He can only hope that his Master can open his heart and be fair later to his two wives, not to waste a girl as good as Carnations.
Dad and Mr. Edi left the dining table to rest while waiting for the arrival of Dzuhur prayer. Anye and mom cleaned the table, washed the cutlery after that they cleaned the fish from the bait father and Mr. Edi. With mother's concoction seasoning, Anye fry the fish for additional souvenirs for the family of Edi sir. While mothers pluck yams and cut down banana candles that are almost cooked from their backyard so that they can be brought also as souvenirs.
The souvenirs that will be brought Carnations have been prepared all and very much, there are bananas, sweet potatoes, fish, various souvenirs, and many other things, woven bags of colorful pandan leaves and a variety of simple snacks in the form of chips typical village.
They pack it into a dus as neat as possible to easily carry it and that obviously won't dirty Satya's car.
After all the work was done mother and Anye immediately performed the dzuhur prayer, then mother brought a small carved box into the Carnation room and gave it to the Carnation.
"What is this ma'am" asked Carnations.
Save it, and wear it later on your wedding day. Inside there is a jewel ring given from your grandmother when she was about to marry my father, now it is yours son. I don't have anything precious to give you on your wedding day.
"Thank you mom... It's so beautiful that the ring, Anye doesn't need anything but blessings from father and mother. Pray Anye ya bu to always get happiness in the household life Anye later".
Anye hugged her mother crying, and she told her.
"Whatever happens in your household, keep your husband. Do not disgrace your husband to anyone. If you open your husband's disgrace to someone else you have stripped yourself naked, opened your own disgrace son".
"Yes ma'am", Anye will always remember mom's message.
"When do you plan to introduce your future husband to us, son?"
"Insha Allah soon ma'am, after he brought Anye to be introduced to his family then Anye will introduce him to father and mother".
The conversation between the mother and son ended when the father called them to get ready because it was late afternoon and Anye had to return to the city immediately with Mr. Edi who had also prepared.
