Abellard and Marc stared at each other intently, fighting with gazes.
Naeva could only sigh at him.
"Ma Soeur (my sister), I brought you a pretty straw hat that will protect your face from the sun." Abellard went ahead and held out a straw hat with a white ribbon.
"M'mselle, I bought you a hat for the winter. I hope you like it" sidelined Marc. His gaze was so earnest, hoping that the Miss would receive her reward first.
"Winter hat? Don't you know it's already in spring?" cynical Abellard.
"M'mselle can wear it now, the weather's still cold. You buy him a straw hat, while Mademoiselle has a lot of straw hats in his closet" Marc replied.
Naeva looks sighed.
"Did you see that Edward? In my house there is no man who has truly grown up."
Edward smiled at her.
"I'll be the grown man for you, Ma Coeur" replied Edward, puffing his chest.
"Can't!" sergeant Abellard and Marc together.
Edward held back his laughter looking at the behavior of the two adult men before him.
"Richard, how did you get this hat? You don't have any money?" Naeva suddenly sat up straight as she remembered that.
Abellard smiled at jumawa.
"A handsome guy like me doesn't have to spend money to get something. The shop owner gave it away for free. He said my face was like the face of a prince."
"The old woman who owned the shop you went in?" asked Naeva while holding back a laugh. Marc and Edward as well.
Realizing he was being laughed at, Abellard panicked.
"No! I mean the old woman liked my face not for herself, but for her unmarried daughter, of course!" obviously defending themselves.
"Alright, alright.... I can imagine how the face of a prince became the taste of women of old," seduced Naeva with a smile while propping up her chin with both hands.
"From any age, a prince is still handsome" Abellard said.
"Yes, we're home now. Thank you for the gift you gave me" Naeva said as she grabbed the hats from the hands of the two men and got up from her chair.
**
Given Edward's throw of garbage yesterday, Naeva intends to take the boy hunting.
It had been a week since he took Edward back to his castle, and the boy was greeted warmly by Adam, Emma and Anne.
"Thank you if you also agreed that Edward would stay here and help me educate him" Naeva said at the time.
"No need to thank you, M'mselle. This is your castle. We will support whatever you decide" Emma said sincerely.
"Yes, I'm also happy to have a sister. Although women are more pleasant," replied Anne ceplos as usual.
And as Anne said, 'the sisters are more fun'. So since a week ago Anne always took Edward to take care of flowers in the garden. The girl made Edward accompany her to do homework, even knitting as well.
Edward always followed her with pleasure. It seems, having a family that is always warm really makes Edward happy.
The boy's look was now also clean and tidy. Makes his innocent face more pleasing to the eye.
"Edward," call Naeva.
"Yes, Ma'an!" edward replied as he rose from crouching on the ground, leaving behind the flower he had just planted.
"You want to go hunting?"
"Hunting?" Edward's eyes immediately rounded excited.
"Yes, hunting deer in the forest there," pointed Naeva towards the back of the castle.
"I want to!" greet spirit.
"But you can shoot, right?"
"There can be no village boy who can't shoot" Edward said.
"Alright then, we'll go hunting for antelope!" Naeva's beautiful face was no less excited.
"Are we leaving now?" A distinctive and pleasant heavy voice was heard suddenly interrupting from behind Naeva. Abellard's Voice.
"I just took Edward," Naeva said briefly.
For some reason, he still often acts thin and cold to the man. The real attitude was contrary to the desire of his heart to continue to expect the man to be near him, to talk to him, and if possible Naeva wanted Abellard to look at him deeply with the blue net of the ocean.
But his ego feels the prestige of accepting a man who has deliberately caused his father to lose at the gambling table, until his father suffers from regret and he is trapped in a big lie like this.
"But I'm sure you want me to come with you to shoot the antelope exactly like a week ago" Abellard said confidently.
Naeva grunts. Abellard's arrogance always manages to upset her. Nobility really dominated the personality of this man.
Naeva stepped forward this time. His feet were treading for sure, breaking through the green grass that thrived on his knees. That afternoon Naeva wore a foot-only cotton dress with a soft cream color. The girl looks so sweet and graceful.
He leads the way for three faithful men to follow in his footsteps. Edward, Abellard and Marc of course.
"I haven't had the chance to ask something that's been curious until now." Edward aligns his steps with the foster brother he will always consider an angel.
"Ask what?"
"Mr Richard why did I wear fake hair and mustache the first time I saw her last week?"
"Oh, it's because she's a freak" Naeva replied without thinking.
"But I've seen a sketch of his face. If it's not wrong when the Soldiers ransacked the market to look for the man in the sketch. The face of the man he was looking for really resembled that of Mr. Richard."
"The ones the soldiers are looking for are usually criminals or fugitives. And Richard's face is indeed similar to the face of every criminal" Naeva replied increasingly carelessly.
Edward just silently heard Naeva's answer. Although actually he was always confused to see the reaction of the foster brother to his cousin.
"That's it!" Suddenly the boy exclaimed while pointing towards the North.
Naeva immediately stopped her steps. And looked in the direction Edward pointed. It is true, there are deer who are turning their backs. Edward's eyes were as observant as he had expected.
"Eits, wait!" prevent Naeva as everyone prepares to take the bow.
"Why?" abellard whispered impatiently.
"The deer is pregnant" he replied.
"Want to?" ask Abellard again.
Naeva immediately looked over with a sharp look.
"Do you have no heart?! We hunt to meet food needs, not destroy populations. The antelope is pregnant with its next generation! In the past, Nabiku risked himself to a hunter when he asked for a nursing antelope to be released. So loving is his heart. But for the love of the Prophet, the antelope returned after nursing her child. May everyone have a loving heart" Naeva said as she continued.
Abellard was glued for a moment. He felt that this woman was really a sentiment towards him.
"You've been living in this castle since you were a kid, haven't you?" abellard asked Marc, who walked two steps behind him.
"Yes" answered Marc briefly.
"Did I first come to this castle when Naeva didn't want me?"
"Yes, M'mselle is even afraid of your arrival" Marc bluntly said.
"Fearful?"
"Shhhh..." Naeva gives the code when she sees a deer. Made Abellard stop asking questions and pay attention to him.
Naeva pointed south.
Everything followed the direction of the girl's index finger. Then settle to the back of the bush.
"The position of the antelope is too close to the abyss" whispered Marc.
"Yes. We have to be careful. And this time, let Edward shoot" Naeva replied in a whisper.
"This wild boy?" abellard asked in a protest.
"Yes, I suspect Edward's focus is very telling. We will prove it now" answered Naeva. "Edward, go a little ahead!" naeva's instructions to the boy.
Edward nodded happily then took a few steps forward. Prepare the bow and start aiming.
THE SAT!
An arrow shot quickly and hit the target.
The antelope reflexively ran with a stagger towards the abyss.
Edward who saw his quarry was about to escape, immediately chased after.
"Oh, no! He ran towards the ravine!" exclaiming Marc.
"Edward wait! Don't chase!" naeva shouted as she got up and chased after Edward.
Edward was now a meter away on the brink. Naeva is really upset. Until he pursued without paying attention to the path he took.
BUKS!
Naeva's feet tripped. His body was thrown firmly into the abyss.
The girl had not yet realized her position which was in the mouth of death. His body seemed to be floating rapidly.
"M'mmhlee!!" He heard Marc screaming nearby.
Up to a second later, a stranglehold he felt caught his body. Hugged tightly and protected his head. Naeva could only smell the mint scent of the strapping body that was holding her.
Then the body fell on the ground with Naeva's body on it. Unstoppably, the two rolled around on the ravine wall.
