The Prophet also received revelations relating to the ummahatul mukminin or the mother of believers who were slandered by hypocrites, as summarized Jalaluddin al-Suyuthi in Luqaabun Nuquul fii Asbaabin Nuzuul.

Hearing the second word of the Prophet's shohabat rising to the pulpit, he said ‘O Muslims, who knows if I take action against someone who hurt me by slandering my wife? By Allah, I know nothing but kindness to my wife!’
For a month the Prophet did not receive any revelation concerning the affairs of the mother of Aisha. He said the shahada and said, 'Amma ba’du. Aisyah, I heard this and that about you. If you are innocent, God will declare you innocent. But if you have committed a sin, ask God for forgiveness and repent. For if a servant confesses his sin and repents, Allah will accept his repentance.'
Mother Aisha said to her father to help answer the Prophet, her father said, By Allah, I do not know what to say!’
Mother turned to say to her mother, her mother also said 'By God, I don't know what to say!’
At last she said "while I am only a young woman by Allah, I know that you have heard this until this word is fixed in your heart and you justify it. If I tell you that I am innocent and that Allah is All-Knowing that I am innocent, you will not believe my words. And by Allah, I have not found the parable of me and you except as Joseph's father said (in Joseph's Surah verse 18), so patience is the best (for me). And to Allah alone ask His help for what you tell him.' "
The SWT apostle had not yet received revelation, finally he went to Aisyah's mother asking for clarification, the Prophet's in-laws were there, the mother asserted in a very sad voice, she had been accused of cheating.
After that the mother returned to the room and lay in the bed, the prophet Muhammad had not left there as well as the mother's parents.
Finally, Allah sent down the revelation to the Prophet SAW. His body seemed to shake. This is how he was when he received the revelation.
'Be glad, Aisha! God has declared you innocent!’ that was the first word he said.
The revelation in question is surah an-Nuur verses 11-20. These are His words that liberate Mother Aisha from all accusation and vile slander.
