Amelie the Keeper of the Soul

Amelie the Keeper of the Soul
WANT TO TURN THE TIME AROUND

Day after day Amelie passed by happier. He did not want to focus on what happened to him. He also did not want to make his parents, especially his Daddy, so worried about him. Early in the morning, Amelie was already standing in front of the school entrance, welcoming the arrival of the students, especially the little ones.

"Morning, Miss," said a boy.

"August, baby. What's yourname?" ask Amelie.

"My name is Aldo."

"What a good name. You are so smart, honey. How old are you?"

"Three" said Aldo, forming the number 3 with his tiny finger.

"Greetings to Aldo. Miss's name, Amelie. Aldo can call Miss Amelie."

"Ok, Miss Amelie."

"Alright, now get into your class huh. Aren't you being escorted?" ask Amelie.

"Father to the office" replied Aldo.

"Then Aldo's mom?"

"Papa says Mama Aldo is in heaven" he said funny.

"I'm sorry Miss. All right, Aldo come in first, baby," Amelie rubbed Aldo's head, then returned to greet the students who came.

At school, Amelie again saw Aldo sitting alone in the lobby. With a small backpack attached behind his body, he shook his legs forward and backward.

"Jiang, Aldo. Aldo hasn't come home yet?" ask Amelie.

"Aldo wait for Papa."

"Alright, Miss will accompany Aldo here until Papa Aldo picks ya." Aldo nodded and smiled.

"Aldo," a voice called out to the boy next to Amelie. Although it had been a long time, but Amelie was still able to recognize the voice. He immediately got up from his seat.

"Papa!!" aldo shouted as he ran and hugged the man.

"Sorry, Papa's late. Papa had a meeting. So it can't be left."

"There's Miss Amelie temenin Aldo."

"Amelie?"

"Nonsense."

They are both sitting in a cafe, facing each other. Bara had ordered a plate of fries and a glass of chocolate milk for Aldo.

"How are you, Mel?" tanya Bara opened the conversation. He felt a sense of awkwardness between the two of them.

"I'm good, Brother. How is Brother Bara?"

"I'm good too. As you can see, I have a funny son."

"Yes, I'm so happy to hear that."

"Hm ... I'm sorry, Mel," said Bara.

"Already, Brother. I've forgiven you and I've forgotten it" Amelie said, joking with Aldo.

"I'm sorry, Mel. Really am. I shouldn't have said anything bad to you, and maybe we're still together right now."

"Sister, already. We don't have to talk about the past. Besides, now that you have Aldo, isn't that happy?"

"Yes, he is my only hope for life right now. Maybe if he doesn't exist, I won't be able to survive."

"Sister, we can be friends" Amelie smiled.

"Do you have a boyfriend, Mel?" ask Bara.

"No, Brother. I prefer it to be like this, alone. It's better for me" said Amelie, but Bara didn't understand what he meant.

"Papa, Aldo's done. Satisfied," said Aldo while holding his stomach.

"All right, I'll go home first, Mel. My mom must have been waiting for Aldo to come home. He must be worried."

"I'll tell you, Mel. When when, play home, Mama would love to meet you," said Bara.

"Okay, next time I stop by," they split up.

"Hows it? Did you manage to persuade him?"

"Yet. Looks like Leon needs some time to get over it" Alvin said.

"Am I not beautiful, until Leon doesn't notice me at all?" ask Lydia while making a face.

Alvin moved his seat from Lydia's front to her side, "Who said you weren't pretty? You are beautiful, even beautiful."

"really? Thank you," Lydia now grabbed Alvin's arm and struggled spoiled while leaning her head against Alvin's shoulder.

"Alvin's? Lyd?" hearing that voice, Alvin turned his head immediately and quickly removed his arm grip from Lydia who suddenly revealed an annoyed face.

"Div, are you here?" ask Alvin.

"Yes, can't I come here?" ask Diva.

"Of course I can. No one forbids you. Do you want to meet me?" ask Alvin.

"No. I have an appointment with my best friend. But it seems he is busy with you. Then I'll excuse you. Let's talk to Lyd next time. I'm gonna go see my sister first," said Diva, then straight out of the coffee shop, leaving Lydia and Alvin.

"Div!" Alvin instantly got up from sitting and chased the Diva out.

"Ahhh, all men are the same, stupid!" lydia murmured, "They can't tell which woman is beautiful, which isn't."

*****

In one room, there is a black piano. Amelie sat there, opened the lid, and then began to touch her finger on the black and white keys. A tone is created, making a beautiful flow.

You know I can't smile without you

I can't smile without you

I can't laugh and I can't walk

Finding it hard even to talk

And I feel sad when you're sad

And I feel glad when you're glad

You must know what I'm going through

I just can't smile without you.

Amelie smiled as she listened to the sound of Bara entering the music room while singing the song popularized by Barry Manilow.

"Bak Bara's voice is still melodious as before" praised Amelie as she closed the piano keys.

"Thank you for the compliment. Your piano playing is getting better too."

"Did Brother Bara come to pick up Aldo?" Amelie looked at the clock on her wrist, "but it's still 30 minutes away the new kid broke up."

"I happen to be out, rather than later I come straight here. As soon as I got to the lobby, I heard a piano play. Who would have thought I could hear back the piano playing of an Amelie" Bara said.

"My teaching hours were over, so I stopped by. I waited for school hours to break up to see the children" said Amelie.

They walk down the hallway directly next to the school garden is so spacious. With a large enough tree, the atmosphere of the school is so comfortable and shady.

"Since parting ways with you, I've felt like I've lost something very important in my life. It was one of my biggest mistakes, letting go of you. If only time could be played ..."

"Sister, don't say that. Brother has Aldo now and he is an incredible gift. If you want to turn the clock, then Brother Bara won't have Aldo."

Bara chuckled, "You're right. Behind it all, there is another wisdom that we get. Lisa, Mama Aldo, died giving birth to Aldo. I also felt guilty for not being able to make her happy until the end of her life. Although our initial meeting was a mistake, but I'm grateful to have Aldo because of it."

The boisterous sounds of the students coming out of the classroom began to be heard, "It is better for Brother Bara to go to the lobby. Aldo will definitely wait there."

"All right, see you again, Mel," Amelie nodded and waved.
