Singapore, October 2020.

Ray sat staring at the window of his room. In less than two months he will marry someone. At the end of the week he will return to Indonesia permanently. He got a job at one of the big hospitals in Jakarta.

“Mas, what's there to bring?” Adelia opens the door to Ray's room and sees her future husband sitting down daydreaming.

“Mas..” says Adelia slowly

Ray who noticed Adelia in front of him was shocked.

“What's Del?” heed

“What is there to bring? That's the man his expedition has started to bring his stuff.” Adelia's smile

“Ohya.. shortly I'm out.” Ray got up and looked at his things.

Adelia leaves Ray. Since the wedding date, Ray's attitude has become more silent and closed. Even Adelia was the one who prepared the wedding preparations and their return to Indonesia alone.

Adelia understands Ray getting further and further away from her. He thinks this is all very hard for Ray because of that, he doesn't mind accepting any attitude from Ray right now.

The sound of the doorbell rippled Adelia's daydream. He rushes to open the door, Adelia thinks it's the expedition guy who's still going to drop Ray's stuff. However, he did get a man carrying a backpack and a flat-faced face in front of him.

“Hallo.. I’m sorry, may I help you?” greet Adelia friendly. He thought the man was Singaporean because of his oriental face.

“Gua wants to see Ray, where is he?” he said as he opened the door and entered through Adelia just like that.

“Raayy!..” Yells

“Hey, who are you? Why is it like this?” adelia

Ray who heard the commotion outside immediately looked for the origin of the sound.

“Rendy..” said Ray was surprised to see his best friend there

“Job!..” Without Rendy's cue approaching Ray and then punching Ray's cheek hard, Ray fell on the floor. As if not satisfied, Rendy pulled Ray's collar and then punched him in a row.

Adelia shouted trying to pass the commotion. Ray was just silent not resisting when his best friend beat him all out.

Rendy and Ray are separated by the expedition officers who come there. Ray's battered face was scarred and bloody making Adelia angry and cursing at Rendy.

After a while, it started to be conducive. The expedition officers have left Ray who is being treated by Adelia and Rendy who are sitting at the end of the room.

“Accordingly who are you anyway? Why are you hitting people carelessly?” Adelia looked at Rendy furiously.

Rendy just smiled wryly at Ray and looked at him

“Still lucky the new cave can come here now. So, the emotions of the cave have started to diminish a lot. If until then the cave came straight, maybe you're dead Ray”. Rendy then picked up her backpack and stepped towards the exit.

“Lu nginep where? Will the cave be there?” said Ray while gasping

Adelia looked at Ray in surprise

Ray got up to his room.

“Mas, what do you want? Ga mas, I have no permission you find him. You can why mas.” Adelia tries to prevent Ray.

Adelia must go home, though she is still very worried about Ray.

 

Ray throws a can of fizzy drink at Rendy, then opens another can for himself. Ray sat on the side of the sofa while looking at the beautiful city light of Singapore from the ninth floor.

“How are you now Ren?” ray said without looking

Ray was still silent, he closed his eyes remembering the events of that day. His eyes are wet now. He looked back out the window.

“Desperated cave is indeed a jerk” he continued while bowing his head squeezing a can of empty drink in his hand.

Rendy approached Ray and hugged his best friend. Ray cried out all the tightness in his chest. No matter how much regret he has right now won't change anything.

Right now, Ray has lost Nala. He can't even forgive himself. Every time Nala's face was crying for forgiveness.

There was no reason he could explain why he did it, but Ray also did not understand what he had done. Only regret remains.

Rendy and Ray are having their lunch together at a restaurant in the hotel where Rendy is staying.

Rendy noticed her best friend, looking tired facial features with blackened eye bags and a body that takes care. Rendy knew that Ray had also been so depressed by what he had done to Nala.

Rendy opened the taxi door and then turned to look at Ray behind the window, only to take a deep breath. What happened to his two best friends is very heartbroken as well. Rendy got into a taxi to the airport.
