After the port we took a mini bus to get to Gresik. But before heading to the boarding school. We will visit the graves of some of the songo guardians.
One full day we traveled, we arrived at the boarding school where we would study at Maghrib. We were served by the abuya family directly. And we slept in the abuya house for 1 night.
Abuya is a call is a family greeting to a male parent, the same as the greeting "father". The word is derived from the Arabic word meaning "my father", with the basic words "soap" and "yes". In Sumatra, especially Minangkabau, this title can also refer to a person who is good in religious sciences.
Abuya is our Kiayi friend in Kalimantan. So they worked together on this scholarship.
I also tried to put my eyes to sleep. With a very tired body due to a long trip today.

At 4 am, all get up and get ready for congregational prayers. We had five morning prayers first to the pesantren musholla.
What we are surprised to find out is that this pesantren has its santri. There is a territorial limit for santriwati, and within the santri territory boundary. And musholla is right in the middle. And prayer was in conjunction with santri and santriwati.
While in our place everything santriwati. And this is also a huge change. Which is where we rarely even get along with boys.
As we headed towards the musholla, many eyes looked at the five of us. The problem is, new people always shine.
At 7 am, we explained that Abuya will stay in the dormitory. He called the ustadzah diana to take us to the dormitory. We took our bags and entered the dormitory. Get to know and know each other.
Today's schedule is to buy a closet, a suitable Qur'an, and a bolster pillow and mattress. Before traveling, we also say goodbye to kiayi, ustadzah and parents.
I just fell silent in the corner watching my friends cry having to part with their parents. I shook hands and kissed the hands of Kiayi, ustadzah and all my friends' parents. I assume they represent my mother who can't drive me. And they went home too. Finally my tears collapsed when I saw them disappear with a mini bus at the end of the road. I feel really alone.
Ummi came and took us shopping. Then we boarded in an abuya car. Abuya is not coming. The one driving the car was the first son of Mas Hanif. He may be around 23-25 years old. His hair is a little curly and pretty. Biasalah, surely what is considered is his good looks.
We also went to Surabaya. Ummi and Mas Hanif took us to walk to the mall, then bought the Qur'an. After that invite us to buy a small closet, a mattress with all the pillows and bolsters. Everything is promised to be delivered directly by pick up car.
After that we were invited to the assault shop which was all five thousand. I also feel very cheap, because indeed in Kalimantan it feels cheap with the price of 5000 it. A lot of what I bought, noodles can be 10 packs for 5000, dishes and cups we bought, toiletries and towels.
At 5pm we finally arrived at the dormitory. And thank God the closet we ordered with the mattress has come. We also made our clothes. Once neat, we also arrange the mattress and others.
Nuri put the 2004 calendar on the wall above his closet, then crossed the date.
"It's been 364 days now" Nuri muttered alone. He seems to be counting the days. In the deepest heart, no one feels at home separated from loved ones. But we have to hold him back.
"Assalamualaikum, the children of borneo let's gather" ustadzah to gather and learn the rules in this boarding school, especially for the dormitory princess first. We gathered together and listened attentively.
Not much different from pesantren in Kalimantan rules, both from grammar, security and others there is punishment (punishment) for the infringer.
Holidays here are Sundays, and it is free to want to speak any language and can be taken around for example to the market. The market here is not based on the calendar in general, but based on the Javanese calendar. Every pahing day, any day it will open the market in the town square.
As for the dormitory santri is behind the mosque in the middle there is a ball field filled with green grass.
💐💐💐
The beginning of new teaching.
All santri and santriwati lined up neatly. We follow the ceremony. And after the ceremony will be done mos the first day. That will be filled with introductions and get to know the ustadzah and ustadz in this cottage.
When we arrived the children of Borneo, that's how they nicknamed us for introductions in front of all the santri and santriwati. And when it was my turn.
"Assalamualaikum wr. Introduce my name Nabela Zahra, and commonly called Zahra, 16 years old" short solid I introduce myself.
After all of them introduced themselves. We also went to a class that was determined for MOS (Student Orientation Period)
💐💐💐
After finishing the activities in class, we son borneo called ummi wife abuya. It turned out that our place to eat was distinguished. So every meal, we would go into the ash house and eat in a room that was prepared. There is a long and wide table with long chairs.
Apparently our kiayi in Kalimantan pay more for our nutritional intake. So that we are always healthy and can maximize our ability to study here for one year. So that our food is also distinguished from santri/santriwati who are regular here.
We are very grateful, but because it is a famous Javanese food often uses lombok. Just 2 days I lived here, I had diarrhea because I felt my stomach was hot due to eating too much chilli. Because I don't really like spicy food. I had to learn enough to fit in and my stomach. Even every now and then I have to flush the side dish with water to get rid of the chillies. I'm so tormented.
